I miss CC1,

Plus! I want to know why my Dell computer is a lemon.

Come out of hiding thou sluggard. Talk to us!

Re: CC1!! Where Hidest Thou?

Hey Hoovie! I am recuperating from hernia surgery I had last Thursday afternoon. Have a nice 4" cut across my stomach and a lot of pain and nausea. Will be worth it all once well but I sure hate this recuperating part.

What is up with your Dell Computer? My wife is inheriting my dual core and my new six core with 12 gigs of RAM is supposed to deliver 1/13. Need it for the video editing. Other wise the dual core is great.

Man! You sure surfaced fast! I have had two hernia surgeries. Why the four inch cut? I thought they do them all with laparoscopic procedure now.

I have been told sometimes Dell has compatibility issues with Quickbooks Pro and even some printer drivers.

Re: CC1!! Where Hidest Thou?

Lucky me my hernia could not be handled laparoscopically. That would have been too easy! I got the good old fashioned giant cut. However it was done by one of the best surgeons for this in Nashville so that was a plus.

I can't imagine what in a Dell would make it not compatible with Quickbooks since that would seem to be a function of the operating program which I am assuming is Vista or Windows 7.

I am a bit leery of my new Dell coming in as they are now made by an outside contract manufacturer in Mexico instead of right here in the Nashville area as they used to be. I am speaking about the desktops. The laptops have always been made out of the country.

For 99% of what is done on a personal computer my dual core with 4gigs of RAM is more than enough. However when rendering high definition video in Sony Vegas Pro it is not. Working with video is very "thread" intensive so the more cores you have the better it can handle it. I am expecting something that would have tied up my computer 20 hours rendering to be done in about 7 hours now and those projects that were taking six or seven hours to now just take an hour or two. Oh, and I finally get my Blu-ray burner so I can produce high definition DVD's rather than down converting at the end to regular DVD's only as I do now. I am like a kid waiting on his new bike to arrive!
