If they tried that now they would probably get sued.

Naw, I would be shocked if any would even consider it. T.F. Tenney even told a story about this type stuff at Murrell Ewings funeral the other day.
He told how at some conference a preacher was in the pulpit preaching against everything under the sun and ME was sitting behind on the platform amening him and nodding his head yes to everything the guy was saying and then all of the sudden the guy got on men who use hairspray being sissy's. Well of course with his thick head of hair ME probably only came in second to A.D. Spears for the amount of hair spray he used. T.F. Tenney laughed and said he saw ME's expression change and he suddenly got silent.
I have heard men of great reputation joke about how in the "old days" Lousiana preachers would try to outdo each other at sectional or district conferences in preaching strict "holiness". I heard a story once where by the time the third of fourth speaker got up to preach everything had been covered so he looked around and saw a woman wearing red shoes and started
preaching against that. I am amazed these guys can tell these stories and laugh. It should grieve them that the gospel was so perverted.

Speaking of haircuts, one of my dumber moves was to go to the Dean's office in bible school.....he's the guy who would call me in for a haircut.....wearing a wig with hair to the middle of my back and having my friend introduce me as a new student. I thought it was funny. He didn't.

Quite the presumptuous statement! SOME of us Admins are set to 'invisible'. How would YOU know who's logged in and who's not?

Let's have CC1 hooked up to a polygraph and asked, "When was the last time you logged on?"

Re: Youth Camp Haircuts
And I show up as being *here* more often than I actually am. I leave pages open on my computer all.the.time. It makes my sister so mad when she tries to chat with me on fb and I'm not really there. LOL!!!!!
Oh, wait...I just realized that I'm set to *invisible*, too. I guess I never show up at the AFF.

I will tell you tho that the camp I went to before I became Apostolic was every bit as strict as the Apostolic camp. Actually, in some ways it was even more so. One of the hard things was that the rules they had for the other camp were not rules that we were used to living by outside of camp. For example, at camp, we had to wear dresses - and to our knees. Never pants or shorts. At our home church those things were fine. So it was a much bigger adjustment. The rules at the Ohio UPC Camp were pretty much the same as what we lived with every day anyway - except for the 6" rule.
|
For the last three years I worked at a Christian School (not UPC) that enforced the 6" rule. When the rule was being violated, I would walk up between the two with a plastic fork, and remind them that if they couldn't remember how far 6" was, they could have the fork and keep it between them

NOW, you are describing ME perfectly. Everyone knows that. Sorry, Bub, but I'm the more logical choice in this case.

Re: Youth Camp Haircuts
I Once snuck out of the dorm at night made my way to the chapel and rang the bell in the bell tower of the chapel, when the adults showed up there to see who was doing it snagged a watermelon from the tables where they were bringing them in for an event the next day and took it back to the dorm room.

Re: Youth Camp Haircuts
The showers were shared for several dorm at one camp I was at and you had to go outside to get them, I once went in collected all the clothes of those in the shower right before the evening service and tossed them in the next room down the line.
