WPF Meeting Claims Mysterious Fire the Work of HS
There are lots of superstitions about dates like 01/11/11.
In the Baton Rouge, LA area a unidentified flying object was spotted. Many claim it was a meteor or some type of space debris. Some say it was an airplane backfire.
I just saw what appeared to be a blueish ball of fire (similar to a falling meteorite) falling through the sky as I was looking south from Skyland Blvd. Didn't look like it was far off though. It looked like it was something close. Gotta be one of the most bizarre things I've ever seen
Dude. I swear to god i just saw the same thing. At the exact same time. 8:48. I was sitting in my recliner and i saw it in the sky out my window. It was really big and kind of bluish-greenish and very bright. It was so shocking that i literraly jumped out of my seat and ran outside. And I'm in Baton Rouge.
Sounds like a meteor, they usually explode when they pass through the atmosphere.
Agreed. It was pretty large, but it didn't look to be moving THAT fast, so if it was a meteor than it definitely didn't hit anywhere near here. I was iffy about it being a plane because it was a brighter color than what you would expect to see from a burning/falling plane.
Apparently Twitter was going nuts too:
http://twitter.com/search?q=meteor
But looks like folks in AL, MS, LA all saw it.
Then one poster on a local Baton Rouge forum posted a news link:
http://www.suite101.com/content/the-...shower-a330663
January/February Alpha Centaurids -- what they call a minor meteor shower.

So... what's the story and relationship to AFF? Well, apparently a WPF Young Minister's Conference called Vertical was going on at the same time. And they are waiting... they are claiming this one is a work of the Holy One, a supernatural manifestation of the Spirit similar to the Pentecostal Experience in Acts 1-2. Apparently, at the same time, they were praying and having a "shower of God's glory." Some time later, fire department officials arrived at the conference. Other details are sketchy. But here are a few WPF minister tweets:
Quote:
Fire dept showed up at church. Reported by people and confirmed on airport radar! Ball of fire came down on this church! God showed
up

helicopters have been flying over my church all morning looking for the "meteor" that hit here tuesday night at 8:50pm
|
Quote:
Police received an anonymous phone call during the altar call at "Vertical" conference that a flaming meteor landed behind the church.
They called airport tower to confirm, & they said they saw the huge flaming meteor drop from the sky as well. Police came to investigate
FLASH!!! Rev. Johnny King preached "In Defense of the Pulpit" in Vertical Conference and presence of God fell from sky! Read below

Classic example of Pentecostal hysteria or "cloven tongues like as of fire?"

Heard there was a bunch of smoke reported coming from behind World Evangelism Center in Hazelwood MO.
Invesitgaotors reported it was just smoke..no fire.

Re: WPF Meeting Claims Mysterious Fire the Work of
Question for anyone familiar with this story:
Did police and fire only search the area of the church, or was the church included in a general radius?
Question for the forum:
Even if this is proven to be a natural meteor, would something natural, that works in a timely supernatural way be a "sign and wonder?"
I would assume those present at this meeting felt like they had "confirmation" from the Spirit with all this news hysteria.

Re: WPF Meeting Claims Mysterious Fire the Work of
My son and I actually saw the Meteor. It was an amazing sight. Seems like I read that the impact zone was Poteau, Oklahoma?
On the Holy Ghost fire, I attended a church that one of the neighbors called the fire department because they did see flames coming from the roof.
This was a neighbor who had no reason to do this other than they really believed the church was on fire.
This did occur during what some would call a "red-hot" church service, with repenting, baptizing and Holy Ghost baptizing going on.
This is not a second-hand story, as I was there and standing in the back when the FD came in.
Also, have any of you been in a service where there was a blue, smoky haze present.
I have been in two services where this happened and I have no explanation for it, other than the presence of God.
And no it was not a ballest burning out!!!
Thoughts?

Yeah, not to discount the "red hot" service or to imply this did not or can not happen but did it ever occur to anyone that the neighbor got tired of the noise and phoned in a false report?

Was that a confirmation or God's way of shutting up the preacher?
