Re: Bott 2011
Ok, I guess I've been out of the UPC for a long time now. When I was there, we didn't have anything called BOTT. Can someone please explain to me what it is? Where is it held? How long does it last? Fill me in, please. Thanks!

BOTT stands for Because of the Times. It started out as a young ministers conference held at POA in Alexandria La sponsored of course by Anthony Mangun along with his best friend Mike Williams. The first one was in either 1982 or 83 and they have only missed one year since then. It is probably considered the premier preaching conference in the UPC. But it is not a UPC sponsored event--although all of the sponsors are UPC that I know of.
They do still have the General Sup of the UPC speak on the first night...but Anthony Mangun always brings the main message on that night as well. Each night has two speakers as well as two to three per day and panel discussions. You can see the line-up on the poa website www.thepentecostals.org and look for BOTT 2011 under events

I have seen so many lies posted. The best one is the one Triumphant 1 did his best to combat. You know, the hair cutting party thing?
Prominent members of this board chose to believe the lie and even continue to spread it, even though T1 had totally proved it was false.

Really??? Hmmm, weird, I though most knew that. My Pastor (& BIL) is Raymond Woodward Jr.
Our simulcast is a closed circuit so access isn't possible, sorry
We show it live on our 3 jumbo screens and it's the next best thing to being there. We are engaged in the service as if we were there and the place blows up! Cool.
We are the only church in the world to do this and we got the idea when I used to do simulcast audio engineering for a government contractor & brought up doing a BOTT simulcast for Canadians. POA has been very generous to provide the signal.

Don't know what you mean by sponsors, but the speakers aren't all UPC.

Sponsors are the preachers who get invited to put some money down and get a platform seat, before and after fellowship at the mangun's home, backstage entrance and reserved parking......they are handpicked by the BOTT committee and the sponsor price used to be like $5000. This is how they pay for a bunch of the confernece costs.
