<sigh>

Most know I am not a great writer myself, so I'm careful not to throw too many stones, but a few well placed periods and capitalizing, along with proper spacing, go a long way toward making a paragraph MUCH easier to read.

On another note, Bill Cosby once remarked why UFO and monster sitings always seem to occur way down South in the backwoods and brush....... Just sayin.

Re: Here Comes the Bride...............

I am going to go out on a limb here and trust that my brothers and sisters on this forum will not cut the branch!

First I want to thank faithit166 for her testimony and her transparency. I want to follow that up with this statement and encouragement. It is not our job as Christians to rebuke or reprove each ohters personal walk with God. If faithit166 says the Lord spoke to her, I believe her, I have no grounds to disbelieve her. This is HER testimony and I rejoice that she is living for God and not backslid. This is Her walk and it obviously is working for her.

I have no right to judge anybodys convictions and consecrations to God. Not only is it none of my business per se, but if I'm not careful I could throw a stumbling block in front of them by questioning there dedication and there expressive walk with Christ.

This is a double edged sword, because no matter where you are at in Christ, it is YOUR walk and we need to give each other space to live and walk it out. I have a problem with those who critique anothers standards (dress or otherwise), as I also have a problem with those who openly condemn those who do not hold the same standards as they do. It is wrong on both counts.

If you have things that weigh on your conscience, then you must deal with those things. Regardless of how they got there (preached, taught, etc.), you must reconcile your conscience with the WORD and with your walk so you can be at peace with your God.

I will address it. First, I agree with The Lemon. Great post, and I pretty much agree with everything that was said. I also think it is very important not to try to diminish your convictions in any way.

One point I will make is that I think that it is clear in your case that you associated pants, makeup, short hair, etc with rebellion. It is obvious from your reaction when you left the church, that doing these things was your clear message to God that you were no longer a Christian. My point is that since these things are a symbol of your rebellion against God, it would make sense that you would be convicted in such a way. Just my observation - take it for what it's worth.

Oh, and I do agree with Randy about the punctuation. I have a headache now

Actually that is a great point and makes perfect sense. It is something I have noticed when people left the UPC.... they would automatically start doing everything they were always taught they were not allowed to (whether it was biblical to begin with or not).

And again, I am not particularly fluent in proper grammar myself but I say the same things about it to people on other boards as well (such as my tropical fish hobbyist ones) where people type one long run on sentence with no way to tell when one ends and the other begins..... And then there are those WHO USE ALL CAPS!

Thank you for that very good post.
