Manning and McVeigh are of two completely different ilks.

The US of A still allows for dissenting opinion and flag burning.

It's called freedom and it's something that this person has physically devoted a portion of his life to defend.

So unless he's breaking the law....

People use their background for credibility in a variety of situations where they are presenting their opinions.

It's strange when a person who has earned his E G & A has opinions that are not expected.

Believe it or not, the USMC encouraged free thought-- you always have a job and a mission. The USMC will NEVER be a democracy. Still, the experience encourages free thought and where there is free thought, there is the potential for the unexpected.

canam: Bradley Manning reported war crimes and illegal actions by our own "public servants" When he took his oath as a service man in the armed forces he swore to protect the constitution from enemies both foreign and DOMESTIC. That is what he was doing. The secrets he revealed protected only those breaking the law not you and me. Evil can only operate in darkness. Even though we do have the first amendment I will be following Romans 14 and no longer pursue this thread.

The thing about the internet, I can say I'm the queen of England....but, still...I don't see why use having served in the US military to justify bashing this country?
I only asked him where he was from, nothing else.

I only asked him where he was from, nothing else.

His service doesn't justify his critique of contemporary American society, but it illuminates his critiques in a different light.

The Constitution still protects his right to that-- with or without military service.

He says the ONLY thing we export is "war, weapons and collateral misery", I'd sure like to know how that is NOT bashing America.
