I just heard about this from the pastor. around 5 years ago, Bro Arnold preached a revival in our church. He and I prayed for a womans healing that was not there. No oil or laying on of hands but he prophesied she was healed.
She was. The woman had an open wound from MRSA infection. It was draining and she was on IV drip bouquet of antibiotics. She was in and out of the hospital several times a year and daily home health. Two months later I spoke with 2 of her nurses and her grand daughter a pharmacist. They reported she was healed, wound healed and she was off antibiotics. i asked when this happened and it matched the dates of his visit to our church. God promises He wants to heal and wants to be honored.

Why conclude that God hears beyond the UPC?
Could it not be possible that because we pray for "the world to the blessed," for God to "heal the sick of the word," to work "miracles in the world," that it is all coming from us? Can he not just be responding to our prayers for them, which in-turn makes them believe that He actually heard them, when in reality He did not? That it was all US?
I don't believe in another salvation beyond the first century conversions.

I believe that God honors the prayers of His people.
Maybe because it's because I've seen amazing things happen both inside UPC churches and in churches that aren't UPC.
I've seen (non-UPC) services where people have prayed specifically for someone to be healed and it's happened.
Even more specifically, I've been in churches that aren't UPCI and received a tremendous outpouring. When I received a word that helped me break free of low self-esteem and an eating disorder, it was at my friend's non-denominational church.
God is God and God is good, no matter whether you agree with the doctrinal statement. Granted, I'm not saying that anything goes, but I think that it is a bit spiritually arrogant to completely shut out anyone who isn't Apostolic.

Since I haven't interacted with a good majority of the posters on AFF, I'm never sure when someone's being sarcastic. This one didn't seem like satire. Either way, I took the bait.

Miracles according to a formula is not prefered.
Miracles only in certain churches
Only when annointed with oil
Only by the pastor
Only for the saint
and other preconditions.
Signs and wonders will follow them that believe.

Let it be understood that Apostolic Friends Forum is an Apostolic Forum.
Apostolic is defined on AFF as:
- There is One God. This one God reveals Himself distinctly as Father, Son and Holy Ghost.
- The Son is God himself in a human form or "God manifested in the flesh" (1Tim 3:16)
- Every sinner must repent of their sins.
- That Jesus name baptism is the only biblical mode of water baptism.
- That the Holy Ghost is for today and is received by faith with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues.
- The saint will go on to strive to live a holy life, pleasing to God.

Could you imagine a muslim praying for a person to be healed by Allah, then the report comes back and it shows no sign of sickness, ect? Honestly, what would you think? That God heard them? And we as Christians do not even accept Islam to be true.

I might become a regular! AFF is fun.
And it is a picture of me - although I'll admit that I look a lot more glamorous than I do usually.
