29,000 Children Dead
I haven't even heard about this until AOL had a link to click on to help Somalia with famine relief when I signed on tonight. The story said that in the last 90 days over 29,000 children have died due to famine in Somalia. The famine also is hitting neighboring countries.
To me its amazing that 29,000 children can die, and we hear barely a peep.
Please considering donating to a relief fund such as worldvision.org redcross.org or many others.
Even a gift so small as $10 will add up. I posted this on Facebook:
"You may not know this (I didn't until this evening) over 29,000 children have died in Somalia in the last 90 days due to severe famine. Please consider donating to help in this time of need. If each of my FB friends donated just $10 it would be over $1100. If your facebook friends donated just $10 how much could it be? If your stomach is filled tonight, and you have a comfortable air conditioned place to sleep, please consider donating. Worldvision.org or Redcross.org or many others."
Personally, I went out to dinner tonight at a nice (but not over the top) resturaunt 9Olive Garden). We spent $54 on dinner for 5 people. How can I see that children are dying while I'm spending that kind og money for dinner, and probably eating something tomorrow after church, and do nothing? I can't. Please consider helping.
This post is not a post of condemnation to those not able to help, I understand there are people in America out of a job and struggling, but I also see when I drive by the mall the parking lots are still full, the resturaunts are still full, and despite a poor economy, we are still the most finacially blessed people on the face of the earth.
