MSNBC is Hyperventilating!
Watching Chris Matthews and he has Robert Reich and Gov Richardson and they are talking about Obama's lack of leadership on this economic crisis. So they sit there and come up with ideas to help BO out. Here's their brilliant and creative solutions: shovel-ready, public works jobs, infrastructure, bridge building, road repair, 1930s era New Deal programs like the WTA and the CCC and the TVA. Oh wow, that's original! Then Bill Richardson says, "We need to call a meeting of people from all over the country, people who know how to create jobs, etc." The president had a commission that gave him all the answers he needed to right this ship and he IGNORED them completely! What makes the governor think that having a meeting of the minds could get this prez to adopt any ideas they could come up with?

Re: MSNBC is Hyperventilating!
Three years into this mess and they think the answer is more government spending and stimulus! Lol! Its amazing the profound ignorance and blind loyalty to ideology.

Re: MSNBC is Hyperventilating!
Yesterday or the day before I watched a little of MSNBC and saw Rachel Madcow proceed to blame 100% of the USA's credit rating being reduced by S&P on the Republicans! I am constantly amazed at the intellectual dishonesty on the left.

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.
"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.
"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."

That's just further evidence of how bankrupt these guys are. The CCC and other 1930's programs didn't work. All they did was to keep some people otherwise busy who might have been fomenting revolution at the time.
The President does have a "Jobs Czar" already - ironically, it's the CEO of the parent company of Chris Matthew's network: J.R. Immelt.
Immelt recently announced that GE/NBC/Universal Pictures/MSNBC/CNBC is moving their 115 year old X-Ray imaging business to China at a cost of 34,000 U.S. jobs.
How's that idea working for ya, Chris?

She's just another shill. The Dems and the Left rail obscenely about Republicans "marching in lock step" and how Fox News is the RNC's "mouthpiece"...
... And yet they all act oblivious to the extant to which GE/Universal/NBC/MSNBC/CNBC (and now Comcast/Universal) along with the Ted Turner entities Like CNN/HeadlineNews and the DNC's traditional shills at ABC/Disney and CBS/Paramount/ComedyCentral and the "dead tree" media at the NY Post, WashPo, the bloggeriti at HuffPo/AOL and George Soro's billion $$$ tool known as "Media Matters" and its scion all toe the President's line and thus, the DNC talking points.
... btw, SONY (which hosted Obama's big Hollywood fund raiser right on their studio lot - featuring the Facebook and Google billionaires prominently) is releasing a new movie intended to influence the outcome of the election in 2012.
The idea of objectivity has long been out the window... but now these guys have also got their hands in one another's pockets and are circulating and mixing Federal dollars with the income from movie ticket sales and ad revenue and circulating that all back to promote a failed agenda.

Anyone seen any new jobs in 2011 that we can credit to Congress.
In spite of its shortrcomings........the CCC and WPA were jobs for both my father and my father in law in the 30's.

There are a large number of very well paying staff positions that we can certainly credit Congress for... or blame Congress for... your choice.
I don't know of anyone who worked in those FDR programs but I have benefited from walking on trails and utilizing other parks related infrastructure that were created back then. My only criticism was that given all of the Federal spending and all of the "brilliant" administration that went into those programs, they only created seasonal and temporary jobs and did nothing to pull us out of the Depression and they barely even registered a blip on the nation's GDP.
What finally got us out of the Depression was the systematic destruction of over half the world's industrial and manufacturing capability while our own manufacturing capacity only increased exponentially. All of this was directly attributable to the Second World War.
This of course also represented an unnatural condition that simply could not last. When the rest of the world was rebuilt our factories and workers had to learn how to compete. We never did. Instead, we created fat, bloated and inefficient manufacturing "unions" that destroyed our industry. Most of the leadership of these unions were members of organized crime.
Drive through Detroit and up around Dearborn, Michigan. It's a ghost town. Shuttered plants and abandoned homes.
Then, drive across the Ambassador Bridge into Ontario Canada. Drive along the north shore (the Canadian shore) of Lake Erie up to Toronto and along the Lake Ontario shore. You will see over 250 miles of new, clean and efficient manufacturing plants and their surrounding communities. It a HUGE manufacturing center. HUGE. It boggled my mind the last time I was through there. Almost all of the production from these plants is then exported to the United States.
Why is that? Why is Detroit a ghost town and Toronto is surrounded by this HUGE thriving manufacturing megalopolis?
