Ax the green/yellow idea. I've only seen that in very small numbers with a totally different theme going. I'd say the cream/off-white (or anything else similar) would look good.
To get a better visual, what style/color is the flooring?

I have not posted pics of the room yet - everything will be new. The floor will be new hardwood. Likely a darker version.
To compensate for minimal wall space there will be a large island with sink and dishwasher on one side and seating on three sides. Granite top, with Victorian faucet. The island will be approx 78"x54"

Re: Interior Decorators
I would do steamed milk and the island in burgundy to match the appliances.

Would that work with these appliances? Both the fridge and the stove will be cranberry with chrome. Most of the room (there are lots of doors and windows) will be cabinetry. I do think it could work.

Stephen, I certainly wouldn't disregard the color green. It is the primary color used in Victorian decor. Just my opinion, but I would get very tired of burgundy and white or cream. I would need something to make me happy when I came into the kitchen. And being you get snow, I'd want something a little more Spring throughout the year. But that is just me.
A couple of pictures from nature can tell you that green and burgundy compliment very nicely.
A sage green, burgundy and white - which I would tone down with a bit of a tan undertone, i.e., off white. Burgundy here is the "pop" color and not the dominate, such as, your stove.
Here is a darker green in this arrangement (fourth row photo under the tie), which uses the burgundy, white and green. It won't let me copy any images from the link.

This kitchen may not be the color green you want, but the concept is that the white and green would go well with the burgundy being the accents, i.e., in the curtains, the area rug and the stove. I like the nickle (in the hardware) which is in your stove and is one reason I included this photo. It has your dark wood flooring too.
I normally always use Behr paint, but I found an excellent Guacamole (C68-4) in Olympic paint. Not too dark or too light. I think it would go perfect with burgundy.

Re: Interior Decorators
Ran across the three colors together.
Benjamin Moore Vintage Wine (2116-20), the green is Wasabi (AF-430) and I didn't get the exact color of the trim. All three work together nicely. Very Victorian. IMO, the green breaks up the coldness of the wine and cream/white.

Re: Interior Decorators
FWIW, I'm a huge fan of green tones; a nice sage would compliment it well.
My job involves tinting, mixing paint.....there are lots of great sages; and if you must______some nice off whites also; one of my favorites is SW Antique White.
Just my observation, but don't hesitate using color.......more personality!!!!
AND, yes, a great house, Hoovie.

You are welcome, Hoovie. I wasn't so much trying to sway your opinion as I was making a solid defense for green! It's my favorite and predominate color scheme in our home. Viva la Sage Green!!! LOL! I can pass on the Hunter Green though.
Did you notice the leather jacket on the built-in hall tree in the last photo I posted? Totally rich and classy!!! I was thinking - Give me some leather bar stools in that kitchen! Love leather!
