Re: The "dress code" is essential...

Dress modestly, live godly, walk in Christ are three rules that should be preached as Christian standards. The dress code thing is more of a power issue than a godliness issue as some preach it.

We have a problem when somebody dresses holy on the outside and is living a lie within.

We also have a problem when folks refuse to dress holy.

It takes both. You can't get away from it.

If you don't want to dress holy, you likely have an unholy heart.
Oh, so you're one of those who "calls it like I see it?" Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah...

When you pray, do you spend half your time thanking God that your not as bad as all the people you just mentioned?
Good point!

Agreed!

Agreed!

Don't judge my attitude, you don't have any idea who I am.

Mat 23:23 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone.
We don't have to "know who you are" in order to tell what you are. Your words alone here speak far more for you than you coming back and defending yourself. Quit wasting your time. And, beside, you're the pot calling the kettle black to tell others here not to judge your attitude...

As T. F. Tenney stated during his preaching here a couple of years ago, "some people need a check-up from the neck up on their stinkin' thinkin'."

That can go all sorts or ways, regardless of convictions/beliefs...

A true Christian who is saved by grace is modest in appearance and attitude. Christian disciplines are important, but we are not saved by them.

Re: The "dress code" is essential...

The dress code issue proponents need to look at the Amish, for that is the same immodest (immodest means attracting attention) and extreme distinction they will be in in a few decades. Since immodest y is attracting undue attention, those promoting modesty of dress in the way they require with their standards are actually making themselves immodest. Immodest does not only involve dressing sexually alluring, but simply attracting undue attention to oneself. Reminds me of the three foot high hairdos of the seventies.

Salvation is not in the water, neither is it in our shirts and skirts. It's the heart behind the acti and consecration that shows our salvation and enhances our contributions to the Body of Christ.

I don't wear men's clothes. Or clothes that pertain to a man. UGH

I am a three stepper but I do not believe it is in the water. It is in our faith.
