In Mexico, if you help someone hurt in the street, they will (possibly) hold you liable, so people wait to see if they can drag themselves to the curb, then they'll help them. This world is a sick place.
And all it took was one person to sue a good samaritan.
I woke up one morning to a girl screaming for help, she was involved in a two car accident one block from my home. I ran down to see if I could help. Her and her friends in the truck seemed ok though one was banged up pretty good. The other car was in the ditch, I found a young lady thrown between the two front seats. She was wedged between the two bucket seats with her shoulders and head basicly in the back seat but not touching, so her head was just hanging back in mid-air kinda. From the sound of her breathing it was obvious the angle of her neck was restricting airflow. I jumped in the back seat and picked her head up enough to lay it on my knees so it was level with the rest of her body. You would have thought I had pulled a knife out and killed her, the crowd that had gathered around the car to stare at her was hollering at me to leave her alone or I may get sued. We sat there like that for what seemed like forever (this was 15 miles from any town or ambulance). Her eyes were open but lifeless, just staring back at me, her breathing was gargled and labored. I began to pray over her, not sure if she could hear or see me even though it appeared she was looking right into my eyes. Her breathing became shorter and shorter until it finally stopped.
I followed up on her a couple days later, the medics told me she had massive internal injuries and brain hemoraging. They assured me there was nothing they could have done for her much less me.
All I think about is if she could see in those last moments, I'm glad she left this world seeing someone praying over her instead of a crowd of people gawking at her from the road because they were worried about a law suit.

In fact I think that the insinuation of "hateful" Pentecostals is coming mostly from the fertile imaginations of bitter, backslidden ex Apostolics who are constantly trying to find a way to justify their actions. ~ strait shooter

Amen. Such a sad state of affairs when that is the first thought in people's heads. Kudos to you for doing what you did.
My grandmother is in the hospital and needs an operation costing $100,000 and possibly more. She cannot afford the medical bill. Without the operation, she will die. She lays in the hospital bed suffering from pain. Will you do the compassionate thing and, as a taxpayer funding nationwide healthcare, help pay for the operation that she needs? Or, refuse to do so, and let my grandmother die?

Why not just bring her home, making sure she is comfortable and surrounded by those who love her?
Sometimes, the most compassionate thing you can do is just let the person rest in peace.

God help us. So disturbing. I can't even make myself watch the video. I can't even come close to watching it actually. Maybe because it hits too close to home since I have a toddler around the same age.
Same here. I cried out when the van hit him and had to turn it off. sick

I am very sorry about your grandmother, I think this will happen much much more if government "healthcare" kicks in. The last thing you want is the government deciding what life is worthy to keep. These are the same people that are funding United Nations abortions! Don't trust them.
A few questions... What are you doing to help your grandmother? Have you set up funds where the community that loves her and knows her can be informed of her plight and can contribute? Are you having dinners and charitable auctions to raise the money? These work very well. I have contributed hundreds maybe thousands to events like this.

Before I had kids, I would have watched the video and commented on the insanity of humanity.
Now that I have little ones of my own, I cannot watch such. I just cant. It is heart breaking. precious little ones not being loved, taken care of... I just cant watch it. I cant even read all the posts or read the whole story.

I was deeply disturbed by this. But I felt something come to mind.
We in the church meet in our nice tabernacles, put on a Christian concert, have a professional speaker, and give our money to keep the building and pay the speaker. We quibble over silly "standards" that just make us look stupid. We try to invite people... but all too often we don't really share our lives with them.
The church is busy about it's religious business while a world of over six BILLION people die in the night, destined for a devil's Hell.
I feel deeply convicted for my lack of passion and zeal for the Gospel. Am I letting precious souls die at my feet as I simply walk about my day on the way to work, home, shopping, entertainment, and then a church service? If so... God help me.
Boy oh boy you hit the nail on the head....
