We can all start having pentagrams on the front of our pulpits and on the front doors of the church. Maybe even those who wear jewelyr can wear pentagram necklaces. I can feel the revival already. (TIC... of course)

Bro... Jesus is the Morning Star is He not? And yes, there is a Church with a lighted star downtown. While I don't advocating using a "pentagram"... using the star to represent the light of His coming is perfectly biblical. You'd throw out all references to a star out of fear.

Why not?
You said that we must take ALL things from satan and give them back to God.
If we can take fertility rituals in the spring and bring them "back" to God... and if we can bring take the celebration of the death and then eternal resurrection (reincarnation actually... I suppose) of the sun god and give that "back" to God...
Then what in the world is wrong with giving the pentagram "back" to God?

See... that's the thing. The pagan fertility celebrations were dead when Messianics began celebrating Christ's birth on December 25th in the early 2nd century. It took a pagan emperor reviving the pagan festival by decree in an attempt to combat the spread of Christianity. Christians didn't borrow the date.

Honestly, nothing. It's just a geometric shape. However, weak stomached Christians could never handle it this side of glory.

So maybe when we all get to heaven there will be a pentagram there?

For me freedom came when I stopped making lists of things we can't do or won't do because of it's pagan histories etc. It is truly a celebration of the Birth of Christ. A fun, festive celebration with focus on Christ, our families, food. Truly a wonderful time of year.
There are aspects that I still reject... we teach the kids about St Nickolas and accompanying folklore but there is no lying - we keep the fantasy in perspective. Though I must admit, kissing Kristin neath the mistletoe is somewhat magical...
Speaking of garlic, I had some this morning with my deer steak!

Re: WHAT!?! No Christmas???
I have only read the first few pages of this thread but I must confess I LOVE the "trappings" of Christmas. I believe you can enjoy the decorations, themes, etc of the Holiday Season without being obsessed or consumed by them.
Of course I know the REAL reason for the season but that doesn't take away from the fun of decorated Christmas trees, Christmas lights, Nativity scenes, other decorations, Santa Claus, etc, etc.
I love giving gifts and don't really expect any. I use the great sales of the season to buy myself whatever gifts I would like (this year a new GPS I use for work, a new MP3 player, a new printer, etc). I derive a lot of joy from thinking about what gifts my children and grandchildren will enjoy and then surprising them with them. It is an expression of love and the dollar amount of that expression can vary greatly from year to year depending on our budget but my children are never disappointed no matter how big or small their gifts might be as they know it is the thought behind them.
One has the right to abstain from the Holiday Season celebrations but despite whatever they might say I believe they are missing something wonderful.

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.
"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.
"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."

There might be something in the New Heavens and the New Earth that looks like a pentagram... However, I don't think it will be used as witches use it. Is this ornament satanic?

Of course not. They are simply beautiful shapes used to decorate for the season and cultural celebration of Christ's birth.
Even the cross is pagan. It was a pagan form of execution.

A crying shame that Jesus allows us to express our adoration and worship through our cultrual customs? That's grace. The Laws of the OT do not govern our worship today. Else we'd not be allowed to even heat our homes in the winter. lol
Christianity is one religion that is so universal you can worship Jesus as you know to worship. It's beautiful and radical. If you became a Muslim, a Hindu, or a Buddhist... you'd have to radically shift your lifestyle to reflect their culture. However, Christianity isn't so.
For example.... In New Zealand the Maori perform a war dance in church (UPCI) and even distort their faces in "haka" as a form of praise, worship, and even... spiritual warfare. They "haka-ed" for the devil long enough... now they are giving that to Jesus... and in it He is glorified.
Let me guess... we should eradicate their pagan culture, put them in suits, and teach them how to "shockamoo"? lol
Sorry... I think all this anti-Christmas, anti-European culture banter comes form a spiritual superiority complex.
