Interesting. I never met anybody like that.

Re: What Is Holiness Video.

Kind of reminds me of the parable of the sower:

18 Hear ye therefore the parable of the sower.
19 When any one heareth the word of the kingdom, and understandeth it not, then cometh the wicked one, and catcheth away that which was sown in his heart. This is he which received seed by the way side.
20 But he that received the seed into stony places, the same is he that heareth the word, and anon with joy receiveth it;
21 Yet hath he not root in himself, but dureth for a while: for when tribulation or persecution ariseth because of the word, by and by he is offended.
22 He also that received seed among the thorns is he that heareth the word; and the care of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, choke the word, and he becometh unfruitful.
23 But he that received seed into the good ground is he that heareth the word, and understandeth it; which also beareth fruit, and bringeth forth, some an hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty. (Matthew 13:18-23)

Perhaps he is saying that once you become a born-again believer you must allow the Holy Spirit to work through your life. Holiness is not a woman pentecostal standards to be followed sort of thing. It is inward fruits. We are to be like that seed that the sower sows...to allow holiness of God to bring forth fruit an hundrethfold, sixty or thirty.

Re: What Is Holiness Video.

They that are led by the Spirit of God are the Sons of God.
You receive the Spirit, and then you walk in the Spirit.
The Spirit of god makes you holy, but then you manifest that holiness in your life.

I agree.

But Houston knows some born again people who never allow the spirit in their lives.

Re: What Is Holiness Video.

Jesus addressed this issue with the 'faithful servant and evil servant', 'the parable of the ten virgins', and the 'parable of the talents'. One can be born of water and the Spirit, receiving the gift of God, but do nothing with the gift because of fear, laziness, disobedience, lack of surrender etc.. and become an unprofitable servant.

Matthew 24:45-51

“Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his master made ruler over his household, to give them food in due season? Blessed is that servant whom his master, when he comes, will find so doing. Assuredly, I say to you that he will make him ruler over all his goods. But if that evil servant says in his heart, ‘My master is delaying his coming,’ and begins to beat his fellow servants, and to eat and drink with the drunkards, the master of that servant will come on a day when he is not looking for him and at an hour that he is not aware of, and will cut him in two and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites. There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth."

Matthew 25:1-13

“Then the kingdom of heaven shall be likened to ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom. Now five of them were wise, and five were foolish. 3 Those who were foolish took their lamps and took no oil with them, but the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps. But while the bridegroom was delayed, they all slumbered and slept.“And at midnight a cry was heard: ‘Behold, the bridegroom is coming; go out to meet him!’ Then all those virgins arose and trimmed their lamps. And the foolish said to the wise, ‘Give us some of your oil, for our lamps are going out.’ But the wise answered, saying, ‘No, lest there should not be enough for us and you; but go rather to those who sell, and buy for yourselves.’ And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came, and those who were ready went in with him to the wedding; and the door was shut. “Afterward the other virgins came also, saying, ‘Lord, Lord, open to us!’ But he answered and said, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, I do not know you.’ “Watch therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour in which the Son of Man is coming."

Matthew 25:14-30

“For the kingdom of heaven is like a man traveling to a far country, who called his own servants and delivered his goods to them. And to one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one, to each according to his own ability; and immediately he went on a journey. Then he who had received the five talents went and traded with them, and made another five talents. And likewise he who had received two gained two more also. But he who had received one went and dug in the ground, and hid his lord’s money. After a long time the lord of those servants came and settled accounts with them. “So he who had received five talents came and brought five other talents, saying, ‘Lord, you delivered to me five talents; look, I have gained five more talents besides them.’ His lord said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant; you were faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.’ He also who had received two talents came and said, ‘Lord, you delivered to me two talents; look, I have gained two more talents besides them.’ His lord said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant; you have been faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.’ “Then he who had received the one talent came and said, ‘Lord, I knew you to be a hard man, reaping where you have not sown, and gathering where you have not scattered seed. And I was afraid, and went and hid your talent in the ground. Look, there you have what is yours.’ “But his lord answered and said to him, ‘You wicked and lazy servant, you knew that I reap where I have not sown, and gather where I have not scattered seed. So you ought to have deposited my money with the bankers, and at my coming I would have received back my own with interest. So take the talent from him, and give it to him who has ten talents. ‘For to everyone who has, more will be given, and he will have abundance; but from him who does not have, even what he has will be taken away. And cast the unprofitable servant into the outer darkness. There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’

Re: What Is Holiness Video.

He teaches a mixed message. It is true God makes us holy. Yet WE must separate ourselves to him. But again one needs to hear more than a 2 minute snippet to know what one really believes in.

Is this getting complicated?
I thought the guy in the video is complicating thing.
Can you believe what these people are typing here, don't they read what they type.
How can someone be born again and not be saved, Da!
The other things they are saying, " you can be saved and not make it to heaven" I can't believe someone could make that kind of statement put salvation in the past tense by using the word SAVED and then say, not going to make it to heaven."
I'm with you on this one, complicated, wow!
I always ask people if they are saved, and if they say yes I ask them how do they know.
I am afraid to ask that question on here there is no telling what kind of answer you will get.
Either you are saved or you are not. There is no such thing as being saved and you might make it if you hold on and hang out. Most people that believe that teaching and follow it don't completely yield their lives totally to Jesus either. i know because I have hung around them for many years, they are no different than anyone else in this group.

Re: What Is Holiness Video.

When believers come to the spiritual revelation through the moving of the Holy Ghost and realize that they are spiritually created holy by the operation of God when they surrendered their lives to him, when they come to that revelation, then and only then will they yield to what they are and act in the person of who they are. I wish people would get out of the way of God and allow him to work in their lives, that is what trust is, that is what faith in him is, why live in fear of failing and in condemnation of the devil and think that it is jesus who is condemning you for your human frailty? He knows that you in the flesh are just piles of dirt.
Holiness does not come by forceful religious do's and don'ts it comes from the power of God through revelation given to the believer. REVELATION of the truth.

Jesus and his apostles said some things that dont fit your theology.

He that endures to the end the same SHALL BE saved. Matt. 24:13

Be faithful UNTO DEATH and I will give you a crown of life. Rev. 2:10

He who OVERCOMES will not be blotted out of the book of life. Rev. 3:5

There is "initial" salvation" and "final" salvation.
