Re: Bernards with Beards?

I mean that I do not care for the spirit of the churches that I have seen where the men are wearing beards. I am sure that there are probably some that are not that way, but I see them as going closer to the border of charismatic than I care to attempt.

That has not been my experience...

HONEST, while I am not nearly as conservative as they are, I know many in Amish churches that are truly hardcore "beard people" but pretty much reject the charismatic movement.

The point is - it's totally what you make it. Wearing facial hair (as did Jesus) won't make you holy, but it certainly doesn't make you charismatic either.

I am a firm believer in the Old Paths

Articles on such subjects as "The New Birth," will be accepted, whether they teach that the new birth takes place before baptism in water and Spirit, or that the new birth consists of baptism of water and Spirit. - THE PENTECOSTAL HERALD Dec. 1945

Let's see, services are more hype than true moving of the Spirit. Rock concert stage lighting. Anything and everything seemingly allowed to be on the platform. Did I forget anything?

My pastor is EXTREMELY against that sort of thing, as am I. We don't use the world's deceptions to "feel" the spirit.

Sarcasm? Sorry if it's not, I'm pretty used to being browbeat for having a woman pastor.

No, I think though that you might have picked up on a tic comment I almost made. However, I did not want to offend and so I did not make it. I was quite sincere. If your pastor holds a similar standard to my pastor, I would like to meet her someday.

We believe heavily on the old paths, a lot of emphasis on prayer, fasting, and reading the word, a strong emphasis on a personal relationship with jesus, we dance, we sing, we shout, the only thing that has changed is they usually pick us up when we fall down. its like...an old time pentecostal church that's getting with the times. nothing we biblically have always preached has changed.
