Re: Update Concerning IHOP

Regeneration is the work of the Spirit. Can a person be forgiven and not yet regenerated? The two are not synonymous.

Michael's question doesn't is valid...when are we regenerated (saved)?

Apostolic is defined on AFF as:

  1. There is One God. This one God reveals Himself distinctly as Father, Son and Holy Ghost.
  2. The Son is God himself in a human form or "God manifested in the flesh" (1Tim 3:16)
  3. Every sinner must repent of their sins.
  4. That Jesus name baptism is the only biblical mode of water baptism.
  5. That the Holy Ghost is for today and is received by faith with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues.
  6. The saint will go on to strive to live a holy life, pleasing to God.

Re: Update Concerning IHOP

I can't remember what video i was watchinb, but Mike Bickle opened the altars to repent and mentioned water baptism and the infilling of the Holy Ghost in the same sentence. It does seem like they are leaning more toward the book of Acts pattern. I have come to really like a lot of IHOP's teaching and worship. Praying also that God will lead them all the way into the truth. It seems to me that they have distanced themselves from the "toronto/brownsville" junk. They seem to be seeking the genuine.

Re: Update Concerning IHOP

Do you know it was impossible for Israel to cross the Red Sea? God did it.
It was impossible after getting thrown out of the garden to eat from the tree of life. But Jesus made it possible. With *****men*****things are impossible.....with God however.....
Which of us here is ready to 'dictate' to God....what He 'is' and 'is not' permitted to do?
My brethren....I was saved.....only because it was 'His good pleasure'
......and there aint a darn thing on the face of this good green earth that I did to earn it. Quite the opposite actually....I was/am just a sinner, and He saved me anyway.
All those things that you guys talk about...are things I did, and tried to do....after the fact, in my pitable feeble attempt to thank Him.

Yes I believe they have distanced themselves from that strand of the Charismatic Movement. I have had a lot of joy worshipping by way of the webstream with them. I just love the way they teach a sermon on the mount lifestyle.

To be honest they seem to be kinda somewhere out there on their own. Not really identifying or associating with any particular movement. One thing about it...they have a major emphasis on prayer and consecrated living. I love their eschatology too. I also highly respect the leadership there for taking a stand for simple living rather than the rest of the televangelistic money hooplah. I could go on and on about positive things i see with them. lol

Still just prayin for God to bring them ALL the way in.

Yes I still watch the weekend meetings. I enjoy mostly when Mike Bickle does the teaching. I am impressed with the general pressing in to know Jesus more among the people. Fasting and long hours of prayer are common there.

When they are worshipping I love to see the faces of the people passionately loving him. The biggest drawing doctrine wise is the post trib stance. I dont know of any large Church in America that teaches it.

Still no positive move forward however in that all important doctrine of Oneness. I continue to pray.
