They are the early leaf buds of some tree in the forest, never bothered to find out which. You can steam them, fry them, pickle them...and the crow thing, ya--I have no idea why I mentioned any of this, lol. Crows play with me, actually, and if I could read the thread, which seems to work down below, sometimes, I would tie it in for you. Haaang on...

Ah, what you are invested in. Well, quite by accident, Providence really, (ty God) I moved from SF to Colorado a few years ago, and, um, found some people who were only vaguely aware of who the Prez even was, and--you know what, nevermind, I don't think I can clarify any : )

I would love to live in Colorado... lucky you!

So you must really be in the back woods if you are meeting up with people who barely know who the president is.... or is it that they just don't care? Must be nice....

Um, ya, just don't care. Or a better phrasing would prolly be "unaffected."
