Lighthearted Prayer Request
Here is a prayer request that is very lighthearted. It goes under one of those things that would really, really be nice if it happened but in the great scheme of things really doesn't matter hardly at all.
Last summer I ran across an incredible deal on a fantastic vacation for this year. We have not had an overseas vacation for six years now and I have had the itch.
This vacation is a 15 night combination transatlantic crossing (cruise) and Mediterranean cruise. After eight days crossing the Atlantic we will stop just off of north Africa at the Canary Islands then continue across to Europe through the strait of Gibralter. We will stop in Mallorca Spain, Bacerlona Spain, Nice France ( where we will also visit Monaco), Florence, Italy and finally dock in Rome where we will spend 4 nights before flying home to Nashville.
So where is the prayer request? It is so lame I am almost ashamed to type it. All of our previous cruises (two transatlantic crossings and one Pacific cruise from Hawaii to Los Angeles) have been with Balcony cabins.
However this great deal I got was based on an inside cabin. I am slightly claustrophobic so the idea of spending 15 nights in a very small room with not even a window is a little disturbing.
Now here is where the prayer request comes in! Every once in a while if a cruise has not sold out the "upgrade fairy" will call you a few days before your cruise and offer to upgrade you for a small additional amount of money. I recently was told (not sure how reliable this info is) that the cruise company upgrades the oldest reservations first and if that is true I should have a shot since I booked this cruise almost a year ahead of time.
So once you have prayed for the really serious things for people like jobs, sickness, addictions ,etc if you have time please say a little prayer that CC1 will get that call from the upgrade fairy and get a balcony cabin!

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.

Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."

Re: Lighthearted Prayer Request
Very well CC1! I will trade you that prayer for one requesting 5 lbs of Italian truffles (see my thread). I'll swap you even up!
Like your desire for balcony cabins, I have a special affinity to gourmet tastes.
Good luck!

I think the closest I am going to come to eating truffles is to eat something with truffle oil on it. That seems to be all the rage now and I think I saw something on the cruise dining room menu that has it.
I will, however, pray that your truffle desire is fulfilled!

No it is not. However I was looking at the store the other day for possible emergency food items to store up and noticed that Spam is now going for about $3.00 per can!!! I think that was only about 10 ounces or something like that. You can actually buy canned chicken breast for less than Spam!!!! What is the world coming to.
