Not So Lighthearted Prayer Request

A few hours ago we got a telephone call that my 79 year old mother in law who is in a wheel chair was involved in an accident. She was riding one of those special small buses that transports handicapped people when it was either involved in an accident or almost in one. In any case they slammed on the brakes and because they had not strapped her in as they are supposed to she was thrown across the bus and has a broken hip and broken pelvis among other injuries.

She will be undergoing surgery tonight or tomorrow and my wife is having to pull things to together to drive out of state to be with her either tonight or early tomorrow morning.

Please pray for my mother in law and my wife. My wife is still recovering from her broken knee and really doesn't need to be driving as long as she is about to have to.

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.

"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.

"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."

CC1, I'll pray for your mom and your wife. This sounds like a lawsuit-in-the-making tho!

Re: Not So Lighthearted Prayer Request

My MIL did not have a good day today. We don't know if it is a result to the head injury she suffered in addition to her broken pelvis and hip but today she started speaking incoherently and my wife is very worried. This is days after the accident so we don't know why this is happening now. She remains in the hospital so I am sure they will figure it out. Please continue to pray for her. Her blood pressure is so low they can only give her Tylonel for pain and that does not help much with the severe injuries she has.

Re: Not So Lighthearted Prayer Request

SBG,

She is doing much better. They released her from the hospital two days ago but she still requires pretty much round the clock care so another one of her daughters is going to stay with her for a few weeks. My wife came home last night after being gone the two weeks.

My MIL has a long road ahead of her and is still in a lot of pain. Being a parapalegic she can only lie down and sit and sitting uses the pelvic bone that is broken so very painful. Please continue to pray for her.
