Yep. She was brave enough to post what others are afraid to post. Many people think this way, just are afraid of the consequences of posting what they think.

This is why I try to respond to a post, rather than a person.
Ha, actually more often I try not to respond...lol.

(No, we tried that, remember? One simple rule? Now you get the Law; all of it.)
And even this ignores the fractiousness of the Israelites. It is written that dietary and other rules were given as a punishment for excesses.

No I can not love or even respect a God like that so I believe that the OT is a collection of stories and Jewish history... some true, some... not so much.

The church we attended had several overtly battered women who all had been advised by ministry that they should stay in their marriages... one beaten so badly that her eye was knocked out of the socket. It's that kind of stuff that drove me from church... and really I don't see ever going back... I'm so much happier without it

And really this place has kind of lost it's fun for me too. It seems that anywhere people debate religious stuff or political stuff there is just never ending contention. That is why the other side almost always wins... because 'Christians' have as many views as there are people under that banner and they all want to speak for God or use Him as their weapon. At this point I have really even quit using the term and simply call myself a follower of Christ since there is such negative connotation with the label....

I also find internet things get very stale after a while... too one dimensional. So I've decided on an internet sabbatical except for business emails which can never be gotten away from.... and maybe my farm board. Farm people are relaxed and happy for the most part.

You guys enjoy yourselves while I'm gone.
I am on the internet constantly -part of the job and part of my profession, but quite often I am FAR more active on various boards devoted to aquariums then I am here. LOL

That reminds me of my youngest. He's had almost every small house pet that one could have. When I got him an aquarium, he had every fish named in there. LOL

Rarely are these things black and white. The Majority of women I know (and for the record, I am a big heathen, and so I am not speaking of christian women). Most of them WOULD sacrifice their lives for the life of their unborn child. But sometimes one must make a horrible painful choice for the greater good.

Just my thoughts....

I have been away too long, and am going to attempt tho catch up with all haste.

I am going to reiterate my position. I do not believe that abortion should be legal under any circumstances. In the situation you described, I would do my best to see that there were no complications, and would talk to my daughter about her options, knowing full well that mine is the responsibility in the eyes of God. I would consider (albeit with pain and prayer) adopting the child as my own, or perhaps adopting it to a good Christian home (preferably where I could keep my eyes on it from a distance).

In the second, adoption is always a possibility and there is no reason to kill a baby just because it might be inconvenient.

You're husband is wrong. Even the word thigh in that passage is a euphemism for the womans privates...

I think that brain activity may be the best indicator for when something becomes a unique human person. It's one of the most used indicators that someone is dead and it's also philosophically important because thoughts which are evidenced by brain activity are one of the most defining traits of human beings.

You do realized that you just declared politicians, used car salesmen, IRS agents, and nearly all teenagers non-human lifeforms?
