It is not wrong but right to call false doctrine what it is or false teachers what they are. Paul would certainly not be welcome in most Churches today.
We have become so used to false doctrine we are quite comfortable with it really.
So Im not merely addressing warring sects of Apostolics but rather from a Biblical view its all right to openly rebuke error. |
Well since everybody is firmly convinced that they are right all I see coming from this is a bunch of people openly rebuking one another... which gives the non Christians and the God haters something to latch on to... Just not sure all the 'open rebuking' is helpful to the kingdom MTD.

My Mom's best friend was AOG preachers wife. There were no differences in the services that we attended there. In private many hours spent discussing the Godhead, but always a spirit of friendship and love involved.

There is only one Holy Ghost. AoG people worship Jesus.

BroJoe I think in our AOG congreation we have at least 3 former UPCI pastors and not including us a handful of former UPCI families in different stages of travel from the rabbit hole.
In service today the pastor did not even preach today the Holy Spirit took over and we just enjoyed Him.
Christ is faithful!

I refuse to place God in a box. I don't have the market on God, and neither does anyone else.
With that said, there are some major discrepencies with the AOG and oneness apostolics.
If people want to make it to heaven, they gotta believe in One God. Not two gods, not three gods, not a dozen gods. One God. His name is Jesus Christ of Nazareth.

This I know for a fact.
Let me add that Jesus said: A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.
By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another. ( John 13:34-35)
There's gotta be love in the fellowship. Judas kissed Jesus on the cheek before the ultimate betrayal. Yet, he was one of the disciples who lived and followed Christ and knew the truth.
Not everybody is going to love their brother/sister and will destroy them with their mouth. It's worse when trash is told over the pulpit about another fellowship.
The first thing I ask is what is the motive?

While I know that God is omnipresent, are people going to find God deep down in a rabbit hole? Many have gone that way and ended up bruised, beaten, devoured and demoralized by people who call themselves "one of their own". Why send them down a rabbit hole when Christ can come to them where they are at?
Christ finds people in the rabbit hole and brings them forth out of a dark, dank hole.
I will let them (AoG) work out their own salvation with fear and trembling.
I have the utmost confidence that the Holy Spirit will lead (teach) us and guide us into all truth. This happens when we seek the Holy Ghost to teach us when we bury ourselves in the Word and pray.

BroJoe you are so correct you can not put God in a box or do we have the market on God and there are discrepencies with AOG and the oneness apostolics.
You are correct in that only by the name of Jesus can a man be saved, for it is the name above all other names. But there is misconspection we believe that Jesus Christ is God, not a god but the one true living God that took on flesh and died for our sins and rose again 3 days later. We are not polytheistic, like some would believe.

Let it be understood that Apostolic Friends Forum is an Apostolic Forum.
Apostolic is defined on AFF as:
- There is One God. This one God reveals Himself distinctly as Father, Son and Holy Ghost.
- The Son is God himself in a human form or "God manifested in the flesh" (1Tim 3:16)
- Every sinner must repent of their sins.
- That Jesus name baptism is the only biblical mode of water baptism.
- That the Holy Ghost is for today and is received by faith with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues.
- The saint will go on to strive to live a holy life, pleasing to God.
