Obama's Coal Policies
The announcement that 1,200 coal-mining jobs have been eliminated across central Appalachia has sparked renewed cries that Obama administration policies are crippling domestic-energy production and jobs -- and is already factoring into the 2012 presidential race.
Alpha Natural Resources announced Tuesday its plan to cut the positions and scale back coal production by 16 million tons annually -- which would result in eight mine closings in Virginia, Pennsylvania and West Virginia. Four-hundred workers will be laid off immediately, though the company reportedly may try to re-hire some of the 1,200.
“The president’s extreme policies are crippling entire towns and making it harder for workers to find jobs,” Capito, co-founder of the Congressional Coal Caucus, said in a written statement. "Because of the president's War on Coal, thousands of West Virginia families have to worry about where their next paycheck is going to come from."

Re: Obama's Coal Policies
Obama's gonna lose my friends, in spite of the many many media folks talking Obama victory and left leaning polls that show otherwise.
The truth is this president wouldn't know how to create a job if his life depended on it! These coalminers and their unions are usually in the hip pocket of the Democrats, bit not his time around. There are coalminers in Ohio too. I've seen some of them interviewed and they are anti-Obama.
Obama is such a liberal loyalist, his commitment to the phony bolanie global warming theory forces him to slight a secure constituentcy to maintain his blind belief that man made global warming is occurring. His administration's EPA has passed an edict preventimg any new coal mines from being opened. They are killing traditional sources of energy and the jobs they create and maintain and they are investing hundreds of billions into "clean energy" companies that don't last for more than a few years and only create a handful of jobs comparatively speaking.
EPIC FAILURE!

You left out some information didn't you Praxeas??
Crutchfield the CEO of Alpha called it "a difficult day," but said the shutdowns and layoffs are a necessary part of ensuring Alpha survives in what has become a difficult U.S. market, where coal companies face a dual challenge: Power plants are shifting to cheap, abundant natural gas, while companies like his face "a regulatory environment that's aggressively aimed at constraining the use of coal.

Maybe you need to reread your post.
Yes you left out of your post ANY mention that the coal industry was hurting because their customers could buy NATURAL GAS so much cheaper.
