Won't that be two different things? There are always cultural shifts and styles change seemingly from minute to minute. God's word is sure and it doesn't change...so how women dress will change as far as styles are concerned, but should always be modest.

And why is it that culture changes....like buildings, electricity, heat, financial usury is accepted and the church changes to accommodate it, but a woman cannot change to accommodate practical clothing?
I can guarantee that when the government makes laws forcing women to conscription duties to the nation, they will be forced to wear fatigues like the men for in the sight of the government, there will be no gender preferences considered. There will be no lawsuits considered by the court. Will pentecostals fight for the right of women to not have to leave their babies and go off to war in a skirt? That is a culture change that women never before had to consider.

Yes, that is my point. God's word doesn't change but man does. And man has always had the tendency to want to be the one who calls all the shots against another human being because of how they look might be considered 'unjust'? Some can determine that it is ok to charge usury on their brother, but rake a woman over the coals because it is more practical to work in a pair of pants than a skirt?

Would the Pentecostal woman really consider leaving her child to go off to war in the first place? Or consider going at all, regardless of parental status? Just wondering...

My view is that if it's the pastor "raking," I'll use my pastor for an example: he would only do "raking" for that if he sincerely felt that pants, whether or not they were practical, is wrong, and he completely adheres to that belief. He ultimately has to answer for that...he has a church he is trying his best to present to God without spot or wrinkle. Women in the old days (what I'm thinking of is Laura Ingalls Wilder-types) used to do all kinds of work in skirts, they were just fuller and longer. The trend we see today has them showing off more of their bodies, whether it's a shorter skirt, tighter skirt, tighter pants, low-rider pants. I personally don't wear pants and have a hard time understanding where pants would be absolutely necessary over a skirt.

This is the example that I have seen in my own family. Mom right now is on a ladder painting the side of the parsonage. I have also seen her doing other things. My sister-in-law once climbed a ladder and joined my brother at the top of the church building when we were tearing off the dormer, and she was modest doing it. The key is often wearing a long (nearly ankle-length) skirt that is not form fitting. I helped Mom, my ex-sister-in-law, and sister load a deer into the back of Dad's pick-up (he was at work). The police officer that was on the scene was shocked when I emerged from the truck to be joined by three ladies with long, uncut hair wearing skirts. We all laughed for quite a while over this.
In fact, part of the reason that you see ladies from the mid-west having fuller skirts than their counterparts in the east at the turn of the century, was that women in the mid-west and rural areas often had to do many things that might today be considered 'manly'. To be modest they then wore a fuller skirt.
It is a shame that too many of our Pentecostal ladies have been brainwashed into thinking that anything outside of gardening, general house keeping, is more a man's job. Too many have been educated that shopping is an acceptable alternative to manual labor. Our pioneering mothers would have had a fit.

I have nothing against shopping, but I was spoiled as Mom likes to go camping (In a tent), hiking, horseback riding, canoeing, whitewater rafting, and other things that a lot of the Pentecostal ladies I have met would die before doing (not all of them by any means). Mom has also helped skin, butcher, and process deer and antelope. These are the types of qualities among others that I want in a wife.

It also may have something to do with location of where you live. Sounds like you live in an area where those activities are available to do within a close proximity. I lived for a while in the south and midwest and those were things I either saw or experienced while there. In California, living in a large city it's not so "within reach." There are a LOT of girls I know who would LOVE to do those activities. A whole lot more than you think.
