I wonder what hospitals will do if every worker there refused to be vaccinated?

Will they fire them all?

The thing is, that will never happen. I was surprised at how many of my fellow nursing students had signed off on getting the shot because they could at the beginning and the big groan that we were now supposed to get them. Many said they did not want to. But I venture to guess that the rest of them will....I feel kind of like an oddball.

My husband works in a health care facility and so we are concerned about this. However, since he had a severe reaction we are hoping that if his facility does this he won't get fired because he says he will refuse it. This year at least, he is being allowed a declination form (at least we haven't heard otherwise yet) and he just has to sit through a "reeducation" video. He has done this for a number of years.

I think it's scary that they can mandate this.

Is this city wide, state wide, or what?

This is happening all over the country, Cindy. All my sources are saying the same thing except that they are not threatening to fire anybody. They just told them that if they do not get the flu shot and they get the flu, their absences will be counted as unexcused.

That's the policy for people that work at my doctor's office. Or it was at one point. Doesn't seem too unreasonable to me.

No, it is decided by the clinics themselves. I saw a sign at the last clinical I was at in the nurses station and it was telling everyone to get the shot because they need 90% of people to get it "for the best reimbursement dollars". That told a story.

And you know what a lot of unexcused absences means? And you can't come to work and infect your patients! So, the places that are saying this will probably be firing those employees in the long run. They are not saying "we will fire you" like some are, but that looks like the eventual outcome for those who get the flu.

It is more reasonable than saying they must get it or be fired. However, how are they going to prove it is the flu? Those who get the shot get the flu many times. They also get sick with things that look like the flu. Are those who don't take the shot going to get accused of having the flu when it might not even be the flu? There are other sicknesses that mimic the flu.

Some places are also saying that those who don't take the shot will have to wear a mask through the whole flu season.

I am on a nursing forum and this is a very controversial topic there. Here is one post written by a nurse that I thought was worth sharing:

Ask the neurologists if they believe in the flu vaccine and I bet they will tell you they don't. They are the ones who see the unfortunate victims of vaccine side effects such as guillian barre. Also if you end up injured and unable to work no one will care. The vaccine company even has legal immunity and you have to go to a govt medical board to get compensation for your injuries. I don't believe in the vaccines and think it is an unneccessary risk. But the writing is on the wall and I think it is only a matter of time before all the hospitals force their workers to get it. Very sad! I'm sick of all the brainwashing about the benefits of the flu vaccine. It's just one great experiment, guessing it will work, while downplaying the very real and serious neurological risks. Not that long ago we were all told how great hormone replacement was and later the truth came out and now we are told to avoid it!

Reminds me of the push of Guardisal vaccine where Gov Perry in Texas went so far as to mandate that girls be forced to get it, turns out one of his buddies was a bigshot in the company! Nevermind if you read about guardisal you will find girls who have been seriously injured and even died because of this vaccine!

I thought being a nurse we are supposed to think critically so why do so many fall for the brainwashing re meds and vaccines etc. Better to be a skeptic. Don't sign up to be a guinea pig so big pharma can get rich off you!
