ILG, one of my nurse contacts at a hospital told me that they do not have to take the shot, but if they get the flu, everyday they are out will be considered an unexcused absence

Also, are they going to try and prove it is the flu? There are many things that mimic the flu. And those who take the shot can get the flu anyway.

Yes, so if you have an understanding boss, who thinks you should have the right to decline, you should be okay. But, if your boss thinks you are selfish and don't care if you kill people with the flu, I'm sure your days are numbered.

Last night, my husband and I went to our mini-storage facility to rent out a unit. A woman and her husband pulled up. She was severely disabled. Unbelievably, she got a polio shot at nine months of age and has been this way ever since. Ironic, given our conversations of late.

I am an RN and got a letter from my company this year, stating that I had to get a flu shot or fill out a declination form and specify the reason I was declining. I work very part time and it's not necessary for my family so I would quit if they made the flu shot mandatory.

I don't have volume on this computer so I couldn't watch the youtube videos, but it looked like Dr. Sherri Tenpenny? I've read her book and it convinced me to stop vaccinating my children. She was an ER doctor that went along with the party line about any reaction after a vaccine being a coincidence until she went to a vaccine conference where one of the discussions was about how to hide the truth about vaccine reactions. She started doing her own research and is now against vaccines.

Yes, that is Dr. Sherri Tenpenny. I vaccinated my kids fully, but not without hesitation. I didn't know anything about vaccines then but just felt a pause. I walked out one time with my daughter when I had been waiting too long. I left because I had misgivings and not because I had been waiting. My son, I believe to have aspergers and I have to wonder if it is vaccine related.

I am waiting to hear about my job interview. However, I intend to drop all my classes except one. (It is an internet class and I am not forced to get the flu shot to keep it.) I was totally stressed in the classes. I was not expecting it to be like boot camp. I would probably have stayed in though, and tried to keep going if it had not been for the flu vaccine mandate. It pushed me out the door. Aside from the fact that my clinical instructor said she had PTSD after she got done with nursing school (and she was dead serious!) and I have had PTSD and felt myself sliding that direction again, if I could have gotten an exemption (which I would have had to fight for) I still would have had to face 4 instructors, anyone of whom could have made my life very rough if they felt I was irresponsible and wanting to kill people with the flu. An instructor may have felt it was her job to get rid of me. This is not a stress I want to endure on top of classes. And then, I realized after I got out of school, I would have to face this issue everywhere it would appear. I have heard over and over that it is this year that many places are switching to making it mandatory or really putting the pressure on.

I'm just hoping for a soft landing....

I can't help but read reflections of "...and no one could buy or sell, that did not have the mark..." here.
I'm not the litigious type, but this certainly seems like an ideal case for class-action. There has got to be enough conflicting evidence for doubt here, for a jury...bingo! a Google of "flu vaccine lawsuit."
