If that is really the view you have of those of who are called liberal by old time Pentecostals that is really sad.

I don't know of any liberals who say outward appearnce doesn't matter, they can live anyway they want, and talk about people anyway they like. Good grief! I was surprised to see you write what you did.

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.

"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.

"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."

If only this pastor had been stricter and had a "stronger standard" I am sure this would not have happened. They probably wear short sleeves above the elbow in this church and have video screens in the sanctuary.

Re: Prominent Memphis Area Pastor Resigns

I am a current member at TPC Memphis and have been for the past 15 years. There's been a problem with adultery in this church for some time. As a matter of fact, Bro. Black addressed that problem some 6-8 years ago. He told us, we needed to bind together in prayer & fasting and come against the adulterous spirit that satan had released upon our congregation. I love Bro. Black & his family and I plead the blood of Jesus over each and every one of them. Our church is in need of your prayers. Please keep us in mind.......

Wrong. The key is repenting.
