The upci website is slow to update church information. It took almost two years before they removed our church from their directory.

The Church's name was changed a while back from Covenant Apostolic to GracePointe a while back. I don't know if this was before or after the incident where a Day Care worker there was convicted of drugging at least one of the children in her care.

The Church is currently (at least it was a couple days ago when I checked) listed in the UPC web site as Covenant Apostolic

Pastor Shelly Hendricks is a good and Godly man. I think the prophets and writers of the Holy Bible wore facial hair. I could never find Gillette or Schick Razors in the Bible! Someone told me that the Lord Jesus Christ had facial hair as well as many of the Apostles - Now what does that word - "Apostolic" mean?? Apostle like? Hmmmmmmm

Sometimes Apostolic churches carry such a large amount of dysfunction that when a transformation takes place, people can't grow with the transformation. They are damaged goods to begin with and their spiritual depth and understanding is about thimble deep. So someone comes along and tries to follow the Lord and follow the Scripture. Comfortable church folks get uncomfortable and they take their tithes and offerings elsewhere to a church that will help preserve the church of their youth: singing 1940s hymns, dress codes from the 50s and an all white congregation...

Today my wife was talking with an old friend that we had not heard from for many years. I will be 75 years old on December 6 and on December 8 we are having an open house and had sent out letters inviting people. She had received her invitation in today's mail and called to tell us that she and her husband would be here if possible. She is 80 years old or maybe a year or two more and in pretty bad shape physically. She and her husband have attended the church pastored by Joel Urshan for some time now. She told my wife today "Bro. Hendricks should have resigned long ago before he ruined the church." She things that the church will just "disband" and sell the building.

Today my wife was talking to a friend that attends the CrossPoint church. They do not attend very often because of health reasons. Her husband is the brother of Joe David Sizemore who pastored that church until Bro. Hendricks took over as pastor. Our friend said that she heard (from another person we have known for years and who is very active in that church) that they are going to have a Bro. Lowry (not sure of the spelling) preach this weekend. She thinks they are going to continue on as a church.
