Re: Prominent Memphis Area Pastor Resigns

Do you know what your taxes are paying for?

If you're giving to God, it shouldn't matter. If you are going to micromanage, you're better finding another place to invest in the kingdom.

People have a right to be homosexuals and kill unborn babies. Do you kil babies or participate in homosexual activity? The reason you don't is because the Bible set boundaries in those areas. The Bible is just as clear about gossip.

I deliberately withheld my opinions for a number of reasons.

#1-The Bible forbids it.
#2 - The local congregation needs our prayers and encouragement a lot more than opinions from irrelevant parties.
#3 My goal is healing and restoration. You don't get there as long as people are piling excrement on the situation. How does making disparaging remarks about a Facebook photo?
#4 The facts are deliberately slanted.

'The Memphis congregation deserves better from the christian community than expressing pithy comments.

People would love to know how my attitude, which puts hurting people ahead of my right to stick my nose into someone else's business isn't helping them.

It is also quite evident that you are simply trolling for a fight and have no idea what you are talking about!! Is THAT being a christian? You need to think on that! But I am NOT going to explain myself to you.

And as far as you telling me I am gossiping when I am not, I am talking about a subject you don't like apparently , but that still gives you no right to tell me what I should do! Nor to stick your nose in my postings.

You don't even know who I am or what I am, so stop with the judgemental attitude buddy! I will not stand for it!

#1 The bible ALSO forbids judgement. Which you seem bent on!

#2 Yes they need prayer, when did I suggest at anytime they DIDN'T? (Show me PROOF!) And I have encouraged them...you would have known that part if you would learn how to read my posts!

#3You seem exactly the opposite to me, you seem to be divisive and argumentative, just like your posting history shows you to be. Don't give me your self righteous junk about healing when all your being is argumentative on this board!
You and someone else took up a LOT of postings in this thread and it was not even on topic in a stupid argument! So don't even begin to tell me what to do!

And as far as the face book photo....I have not said one word about it. I simply thought to myself that I didn't see anything but a guy wearing sunglasses. So get your facts straight tv1a. But even if I did, it would be my opinion which I am allowed to have! Weather or not you like it is something I could care less about...in other words...none of your business!

#4 How do you know this? Can you provide PROOF? If not again, please keep your mouth shut because you have nothing to back up that accusation with.
And you are doing what you are accusing others on this board of.... stating something like it was a fact when it is not!

If you liked TB for some reason, then fine, you seem to be lopsided on this issue. But understand that weather you think he is innocent or not does NOT give you the right to tell people what they can and cannot post.

You have a right to withhold your opinions on a subject, but you do not have a right to tell others what they should post! PERIOD!

Not bashing this church nor it's pastor but conservatives never considered this church a conservative church. Don't get me wrong this also happens in conservative churches but this ain't one of them.

Re: Prominent Memphis Area Pastor Resigns

Your post is full of contadictions. You post, people respond. To paraphrase Kobe Bryant, time for you to put on your big boy/girl pants. Last I looked this thread is opened for public remarks. You opened yourself up to scrutiny with the if you don't like it leave attitude in responde to Ferd's common sense post.

Instead of making your point with scripture, you resort to personal attacks. Since you can't respond to the Biblical validity of gossip or opining about other people's sin.

Pointing out what the Bible says about busybodies and gossip isn't judging.p

Pointing out what the Bible says about healing isn't self righteous.

Pointing out your obvious disdain for Biblical protocol isn't judging.
You can't Biblically explain your support of adding fuel to the fire. The only option you have is to attack the messenger. All bark, no bite.

You have to figure out if your opinions matter more than Biblical principles. With rants like " I have a right to my opinion" and "Don't let them silence you", you made your choice.

Interesting point. What part of the conservative checklist was missing? Is the feeling if you don't line up with the complete checklist you "ain't one of us"?

The list is too long and if you don't know the difference then you wouldn't understand. Again nothing negative about him nor the church these are just the facts.

See, this is the problem......the list is too long, and it can't be explained, either you know it or you don't.....reminds me of how the Pharisees took 10 commandments, and turned them into thousands of man made requirements designed to control the sheep and keep them in line.

Most of them, ironically, totally non-Biblical, but sacred to the masses, just the same.

I am not criticising them as it has been done here I am just correcting the absurd notion that this was a conservative church.

Elder would your church be considered conservative?
