Re: A thought on tithing
 Thanks is actually an acronym!
T is for tithes pay your tithes
H is hell that is where you go if you don't pay your tithes
A is for always pay your tithes
N is for never forget to pay your tithes
K is for keep on paying your tithes
S is for sho nuff pay your tithes.
I thought that would bless all the stingy folks today. Just wanting to be a blessing.

Now I've heard it all.
Be sure to impart that into this Sunday morning sermon.

Where is this modern model of church leadership outlined in the scriptures clearly?

I said accountability to church leadership, not "submission to a sole leader". There was certainly leadership in the NT church and accountability to Apostles, Prophets, Evangelists, Pastors, Teachers, Bishops, Deacons, etc.

I thank you for your contribution to the poor in the Name of Jesus in your area. My heart warmed when I read of all the things your particular church does and wants to do.
You know which churches in my region that do what your church does? The Catholics, (food pantry and outreach to hispanics) the Methodists (food pantry), the Episcopalians (addiction counseling), the Baptists (single, divorced and widow outreach/counseling)
The Jesus Name Pentecostals?
Except for one who has service translations for hispanics.
And don't ask what happened a person who tried to talk to a pastor about ideas for changing a few things...
I would love to be in a place of worship who care about outreach to the poor.
I would love to share in my groceries that I would buy extra of staples every weeks in an outreach pantry.
I would love to participate in a soup kitchen and hand out food to the hungry in a Jesus Name facility and let them know Christ is reaching out to them and loves them.
Until then, I take my donations to the Salvation Army.
Bless You Brother.

I agree w you Pentecostals are woefully behind when it comes to being the Body of Christ, the hands, the feet, the arms and legs of Jesus. Many of my friends that have left the mothership have a heartbeat for community and reaching the unwanted of the community. There's less of an emphasis on having church for church people. It's about serving the community and showing them the love of Jesus with not just words but action.

Re: A thought on tithing
Imagine my disappointment when I went to a church that the pastor taught to obey him (not them) and that all my 10% went to the pastor only and any offerings I give goes to run the church.
