It was not just a time to open presents and find easter eggs. Good Friday was a very solemn day. Most places where I grew up closed school and workplaces closed up and sent everybody home at noon.
I remember that and I wish it was still the same today.

Jesus broke bread with the disciples many times & called it not anything significant. As well, there is no mention of the wine.

The Greek work used for break in this verse is "Klao" and it means: to break used in the NT of the breaking of bread or communion. Thus showing that the Apostles had communion, albeit a slightly different method than we use today, every week.

My Dad's church had communion the first Sunday of every month. I really miss that tradition. It never lost its meaning for me.
