Re: Slideshow of Cancer Fight
I was not expecting the ending, I thought she was going to be a survivor.

Lacey, Cindy and ILG, I'm so sorry to hear of your struggles with cancer in family and friend's lives. It is a horrible disease that strikes fear into all our hearts, I believe.
I was thinking about cancer after reading all this, and thinking that I really don't think anyone has not been touched in some way by the effects of cancer in a loved one's life. I wonder why this is? Why this disease is allowed to devastate and destroy in almost every home and family we know. Not saying that I have any answers, just more of a question.
Years ago tuberculosis and polio were the absolute dreaded diseases that were feared above all, and then a cure came along and the fear was no more.
I wonder if we'll ever see a day where there is a cure for cancer that doesn't involve the horrible treatments of chemotherapy and radiation. It seems to me that sometimes the treatment of cancer is worse than the disease itself.
I have a friend who 7 years ago was diagnosed with breast cancer. She was in her late 60s at the time. She tells me that as she was being admitted to the hospital to undergo the mastectomy, that she was going to get into the hospital bed, and something rose up inside of her and she stopped, turned around, and spoke to her husband, and the doctor and said, I'm going home.
They of course tried to talk her out of such nonsense. But as she tells the story, she felt within her heart that Jesus was her healer, and she would rather trust him than the doctors and their cures. She signed out of the hospital AMA (against medical advice) and went home.
She sought out a lady in the area who was a herbalist and who believed in the healing hand of the Lord. She began to eat differently eating vegetables and different things that were known cancer inhibitors. She never went back to the doctors for this problem. The lump in her breast dried up and went away. It has been seven years, and she has not been to see a doctor about this since. She believes that the healing hand of the Lord touched her that day, and completely took that cancer away.
I think about her story often. She is a special friend of mine who has taught me much about faith and trust in the Lord. I do believe that Jesus is the only Great Physician and that there are no diseases known to mankind that He can't heal. Sometimes He chooses healing here on earth, and sometimes healing doesn't come until we die.
I wonder about cancer, and the horrible effects of the treatments man has come up with to treat this dreaded disease, and even with all the treatments, people are still dying horrible suffering deaths because of it. Of course, people go on to live too with the treatments, but I know that the side effects of radiation, and chemo take their tremendous toll on those even who are survivors.
I wonder if there is a cure out there, but the drug companies, and doctors don't really want to utilize it, because cancer and all its treatments and medications are such a money making venture. Who knows?
My heart goes out to those who have had to struggle under the effects of the disease, and its treatments. I know that Jesus knows what the cure is. HE is the Great Physician, and Creator. My prayer is that He will help someone to find the cure and stop the suffering of those affected with cancer.

Re: Slideshow of Cancer Fight
I had a lump years ago. Went to the doctor, she found it right away also. Prayed and had prayer. My doctor scheduled a Mammogram. Went for my Mammogram, before the procedure a hospital doctor came in and couldn't find the lump. Had the Mammogram, no sign of anything at all. It just disappeared.

Did you see the documentary "forks over knives", they had some interesting clinical studies that seemed to support the trend your friend experienced as far as plant based diet.
Ofcourse, I am also biased towards a plant based diet because that was what God told man to eat before the fall until after the flood, but that's a whole different story...lol

I'm all for plant based diets as well, ONCE they are converted into pork and steak by a third party, in this case either a cow or pig.
I also use "plants" (trees) as a source of charcoal to slow cook said meat!
