Hmm, I have spoken in tongues, and he didn't sound ridiculous to me! Also, I note that, in a recent poll here, the majority of those who consider themselves Apostolic, as I do, discounted 5b, as we also discount your addendum to Acts 2:38...so, do those who have spoken in tongues realize how ridiculous you sound attempting to use them as cover? Who knows; we would have to ask them.
So no, "those who have spoken in tongues" have not realized how ridiculous he sounded--are you even aware of the Freudian slip? I agree that it is the evidence, PO, btw; how many experiences of xenoglossy have you been witness to in your Christian life? What other signs and miracles--which also always accompanied Apostolic experiences of baptism in the Holy Spirit--can you say that you were witness to? Post them, that I might agree with you, and say "amen."
Or, you might recognize that most of the true Apostolics don't really mind if you believe in some requirement that one hold their mouth right, in order for HS baptism; just don't make it a requirement for the rest of us, and by default (or design?), mislead a new Christian.
You guys are heinous.

Amen. See that that is the whole point--the fruit, if you will--of this doctrine.

Sorry, I noticed that no one had responded to you, so I thought I would try and answer your question.
The concept of water baptism for the remission of sins come primarily from the following verses:
Luke 24:46-47
46 And said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behooved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day:
47 And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.
(many scholars see this as a reference to water baptism)
Acts 2:38
38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
Acts 22:16
16 And now why tarriest thou? arise, and be baptized, and wash away thy sins, calling on the name of the Lord.
Hope that helps some.

Did that sound like a message that you would get off of a voicemail, or is that just me?

3. Every sinner must repent of their sins.

6. The saint will go on to strive to live a holy life, pleasing to God.
Do you believe in the above statements? Yes or No?

- Yes, but I don't limit Him to only revealing himself as a Father, Son or Holy Ghost, though I do agree He has been distinct in revealing Himself as these.
- Yes. Jesus is God manifest in the flesh.
- Yes. Repentance is necessary.
- Yes. Jesus name is the only Biblical way to be baptized.
- Yes. The Holy Ghost experience is still around today and is evidenced by speaking in tongues.
- Yes. Holy living is what the Lord requires.
So, am I?

Re: Are you an Apostolic?
I have begun a search for an "Apostolic," in response to a challenge by Larry; here is what I have discovered so far:
~You must have left (ie, abandoned) your home and your family, at the unction of the Holy Spirit, to be considered Apostolic.
~Understand that you will never be an Apostle of Christ, and that "Apostolic" is generally a subjective definition; it is an attempt to follow Christ using the set of actions related in the NT to the Apostles. Examples might include Joan of Arc, Luther, MLK, and other martyrs. If you are truly an Apostolic, expect to die an unpleasant, or at least untimely death, at the hands of those you have inflamed with the truth.
~Apostolics do not attend 'church.' An Apostolic might lead a service, but has no need to go to a building and listen to someone feed babies milk. Expect a service led by an Apostolic to make you uncomfortable, and quite possibly upset; although services given for accolades are not unheard of.
~More coming...
