Re: Three Critical Discplines

I teach on these things in this video. Are we hungry for manifestations of Jesus Christ?

Re: Three Critical Discplines

Well taught! I recommend this to all.

When it comes to the Early Church, if we want what they had we need to do what they did! That's an oversimplified starting point. No need to make it complicated: Prayer/Fasting; Bible Study and to that I would add getting out and putting it into action. God will show up when you need Him, but it helps if we give Him something to work with.

If we would focus on these three simple areas, we can change our Churches and neighborhoods.

Not a Christian, but well said anyway: "BE the change you want to see in the world."--Ghandi

Or put another way, "Why do you call me Lord, and not do what I say?"

Re: Three Critical Discplines

As a young Christian in the 70's all my friends and I carried our Bibles around with us. Not just to Church! It was expected that we would be talking about Gods word.

It was considered REFRESHING to open the Bible together and exhort each other. I think people nowadays have just got tired of it. We are not even encouraged to read the Bible anymore!

It is seen merely as something to argue about. Oh friends the riches of Christ we will miss out on if we don't throw ourselves entirely into the gospel of Jesus Christ!

The Spirit that's behind the Bible (YAH) will make himself known to us in REALITY if we will PERSONALIZE the message of the gospel. If we will accept that it speaks to us......not just a historical record how he used to speak to others we will receive manifestations of him through his son Yeshua Christ!

Re: Three Critical Discplines

When I came to Christ as a young man I would study the word for hours at times. I can remember writing out various scriptures into a notebook just to memorize them.

I can remember copying entire books of the Bible just that it might settle into my heart. There was no Preacher telling me to do this friends. It was a great urge in my spirit. I wanted to do this if no one else did!

Thank God he let me meet others who had the same burning passion for his spirit and his word! I met people in the Jesus movement who could quote entire chapters of scripture in unison, who had memorized dozens if not hundreds of scriptures.

Oh to see that kind of hungering for the things of God again!
