My DIL's mother was involved in that kind of stuff growing up. She hates church today because of it.

I know of an 'apostolic church' which was one of those...until the pastor's wife was stricken with a life threatening disease, then she went to the doctor. This was after her grandchild died because of the no doctor teachings which was an important part of their sect. I could call names, some here would recognize them, especially the right 'reverend' epley, but I'm not going to do that. When religious doctrines physically harm children, legal action should be taken against those who practices such evil in the name of God, IMO.

So, the ultracons will preach ignorant doctrines which cause suffering and death but the sheeple in their cultic sect will be so brainwashed and brain dead that they think it's somehow God's will that they suffer and die. They're ok with suffering and dying but will look down their long noses of judgment when they see someone wearing a ring. Just shows you how twisted and evil religion can be.
Well, like I said, I've never heard anyone (anyone I met personally, or here on AFF for that matter) who teaches it is a SIN to go to a doctor.

I have never known a Oneness Pentecostal who refused medical care for their children because they felt doing such would be a sin.

I HAVE known OPs who refused medical care FOR THEMSELVES because they'd rather trust God than go to a doctor.

What's interesting is you are the first person I have heard from who makes this claim that Oneness Pentecostals have this great, massive problem with tons of people dying and letting their kids die for lack of medical attention because preachers teach and they believe going to the doctor is a sin.

THAT'S a first for me.

Please quote me where I make the claim that..."Oneness Pentecostals have this great, massive problem with tons of people dying and letting their kids die for lack of medical attention because preachers teach and they believe going to the doctor is a sin."

Thanks.

You said "It's common in the ultracon camp to teach that it's a sin to go to the doctor and the poor people in their 'churches' suffered and died because of that. You said it was COMMON, NOT RARE, NOT SOME ISOLATED CASE HERE AND THERE. You said 'the ultracons' will teach and preach that which you herein take exception to - going to the doctor.

Unless you believe the 'ultracons' are a sect consisting of say two churches, tops, I'd say you described this 'problem' as quite the epidemic amongst conservative Oneness Pentecostal churches.

Of course you can't show where I said "Oneness Pentecostals have this great, massive problem with tons of people dying and letting their kids die for lack of medical attention because preachers teach and they believe going to the doctor is a sin."

You're being dishonest. But at least you don't wear a wedding ring, I bet.

I have, and do, personally know both oneness and otherwise, who will not take their kids to any sort of doctor -not a real one at any rate. You may have heard of the couple who let their daughter die when a simple insulin shot would have saved her a few years back. I personally helped them move from one apartment to another when we were still UPC.

As far as people refusing medical treatment themselves, I know some as well and personally have the attitude live and let live (or Live and Let Die but I believe that phrase is copyrighted).

what do you mean by "poor"? You mean it was the financially strapped people that died because of this teaching?

Reminds me a lot of that concieted jerk that used to post here under 'thepastorscoach'.

Yea', can't ever imagine what would elicit abrasive responses from RDP!

You folks just won't ever get it (which I fully knew when I logged on in the first place). You can dish it out, but, due to drowning in your own venom toward biblical doctrines that do not fit your lifestyle....You are blinded to your own hatred & inconsistencies, as the above post picture-perfectly demonstrates!

Knee-slapping hilarity how she can begin her post by charging me as "someone (who) has such a nasty way"....& in the same breath call me "gross," "disgusting," & I remind her of a "conceited jerk" !

Pssst, doesn't quite work that way !

Well, let me run....Gotta' get fitted for my dress, purse, nose-ring, brow-ring, etc.....Think I'm preachin' on "moderation" & "temperance" this weekend
