As far as I can tell...the TITLE of this THREAD is MISLEADING! While there have been stories posted that the administration may be mulling this over...that is a VERY FAR CRY from actually saying they are doing something about it! Or even saying charges have been made...which I do not see happening so far.

There is absolutely NO PROOF at all they are actually doing this. And if they are smart...they will not do anything! Too much of a political football.

So unless I see actual proof that this is going on, such as a link to the charges being filed on a certain date, I say the title is very misleading.

The bottom line is this - The jury's only job was to determine whether GZ broke the law.

And this is the law - It does not matter who started the altercation, doesn't matter if GZ profiled TM as a young black man in the neighborhood where a string of robberies were committed by young black men, it does not matter whether or not GZ disregarded what the Dispatch told him about getting out of his vehicle, it does not matter that TM was unarmed or even minding his own business.

What matters for the Jury to reach a verdict is - Did GZ feel his life was in danger enough to pull the trigger?

They ruled he was not guilty.

They say it isn't about race, when we have a Black president (and half white that everyone seems to forget), and a Black AG wanting to jail a non black for killing a Black teen with a criminal history. But the rest of "us" are profiling.

And let's not forget that the issue of race was not even part of this trial. Crazy, crazy, crazy!

I almost joined the frenzy. Yesterday I was going to write that Zimmerman pursued Martin against police instructions and illustrated the perils of racial profiling. But I hadn’t followed the case in detail. So I sat down and watched the closing arguments: nearly seven hours of video in which the prosecution and defense went point by point through the evidence as it had been hashed out at the trial. Based on what I learned from the videos, I did some further reading.

It turned out I had been wrong about many things. The initial portrait of Zimmerman as a racist wasn’t just exaggerated. It was completely unsubstantiated.
