Re: A Completely Home Grown Meal

Maybe I can tackle gardening when I retire. I enjoy fresh veggies and it's nice to know from whence it came .

Awesome!

We eat many zero mile meals here but I never thought about taking pics of them... very cool!

Tonight we are having a chicken I butchered yesterday boiled with carrots and peas from our spring garden and egg noodles I rolled out and dried a couple months back. Maybe I'll get a pic!

Awesome, ILG! Great spread! And I love that iron skillet - the best for cooking!

Randy's plate doesn't look too bad either!

Re: A Completely Home Grown Meal

My husband bought me a whole set of cast iron skillets for Christmas in our early years of marriage. That skillet is at least 25 years old! Well loved and well used!

Re: A Completely Home Grown Meal

A couple of days ago, I found a Chicken of the Woods mushroom. We have never had one before so tried a tiny portion first day. Wow! Was that good! We didn't get sick or die. Now, I know these are great!

Re: A Completely Home Grown Meal

Here's a photo of my plum jelly! The lids aren't wiped off so in the photo you can see that. I am not a perfectionist (at least not a successful one). Also, I have a mish-mash of jars from over the years. But here's the wild plum jelly I made yesterday. Yum!
