I believe it.
It's one of my least favorite times of the year. Folks will ask, what do you want for Christmas and I usually answer, December 26th.

It has made it easy for me to see how a holiday that was outlawed by the Puritans (Christmas) because of it's pagan origins and sinfull practices eventually crept into the Christian culture. We just refuse to be denied anything at all...even evil spirits, ghosts, gobblins, witches, monsters, blood and guts aplenty... Nope, it the next door neighbor kids have it no one will deprive MY children... uh-uh! As a matter of fact we'll just have it at the chruch and call it... OUTREACH!

I am not a fan of the tree, but if people are going to have a tree, then we need to make it more Christian and less about the fat guy in the red suit.
let us Christianize the pagan tree.
we can put nativity scenes in those shiny balls or perhaps some crosses as ornaments. use your imagination and come up with some good ways to Christianize that pagan tree

I imagine FZword, was using sarcasm,
Just like they Christianized all Pagan Holidays. “ Give us a King”---that we can be like the Jones's.
Quote:
1 Samuel 8:19 Nevertheless the people refused to obey the voice of Samuel; and they said, Nay; but we will have a king over us;
:20 That we also may be like all the nations; and that our king may judge us, and go out before us, and fight our battles
|
.
This is what this is all about. As well as all of the other Pagan practices that our churches have accepted. “ Come out of her my people.”

So what is everyone dressing up as for Halloween? LOL
I'm not but our little Lhasa has a monkey costume and the border collie will be an elephant. This kids who come around trick or treating (we live in a nice heavily Mormon neighborhood) love seeing the dogs dressed up as we all sit in our drive way.
