Re: Can God Pray?

God may take counsel after His own will, may take/make an oath against Himself, and make, in the command sense, a petition or plead with His people or even the rest of the world, but otherwise, no, God does not and has no need to, ever pray, as we think of it.

Then again, if we are only using the word God as the Sovereign Divine Being and Creator of All Eternity, does my answer stand.

If, however, we are using the word generically as the English equivalent to the generic Hebrew elohim, then my answer may vary.

Someone(s) isn't wanting to publicly agree with the statement.

Re: Can God Pray?

Is that quote, which many are shying away from, from the future? The date of the post was 12/5/2020.

I have a book written by Skip Heitzig called "When God Prays. Discovering the heart of Jesus in His prayers."

I picked it up at a thrift store and have not had a chance to read it yet.

For the record Skip is a pastor of a Calvary Chapel church.

Re: Can God Pray?

So far, there's been several responses but only one answer. Prax agrees, as do I with the statement of the apostolic missionary. As one who doesn't believe Jesus is God, the statement completely agrees with my theology.

Apostolics, where are you? Agree or disagree?

When did God pray? Not saying He didn't, but where is an example of God praying and to whom was He praying?
