A lost cause??? People seeking for truth, seeking to know God as He really is, a lost cause?? Thankful, God does not think as many men think.

Re: What kind of pastor is this?
One of the major problems with internet forums is that much advice is dispensed,by those who know little...and folks who could be helpful are soon discouraged by those ignorantly grinding their own personal axes...Kept by the Word..Wayne,David?Maybe I do not truly know you,but do not let bitterness drive you into a Laodicean mentality.I know the danger, for I have been there.

I came to seek and to save that which was lost.

This thread took a strange twist, and I would like to get it back on track. I've not made any mention of immorality, and certainly, I know he loved his wife. His wife was a precious, precious soul that I loved. She taught me many wonderful things about the Word of God, and her gentle influence in my life lives on. I would not want anything ugly at all to be said about her.

I was just presenting a situation, and asking for thoughts about it. YOU have acknowledged, as has Steve Epley, that this situation is taking place. The point here, is that there is a girl who is broken-hearted because apparently a pastor doesn't want her to leave the church to marry someone, and even though that someone is black, and she is white, that is not really the issue.
You have admitted experiencing a similar situation in your life. We are discussing something that is happening right now in my family member's life which has shaken her world. I am sorry for the twist the thread took, but when you have an internet forum, that is what can happen.
I would like to get the thread back on track, back to the issue at hand, and continue with open dialogue about this issue.

There comes a time to shake the dust off...Most of what I see here are folks that are willfully rebellious...No matter what injustice has been done to you,..The Holy Ghost will keep you from falling if you let it.

Right. The issue here is control, and certainly, with the next generation coming on, it will no doubt change. I hope so. I pray the Lord can change the situation as only He can. That is my hope and prayer. I pray that healing can come to those involved, especially the pastor in question. So much good could come out of an ugly situation, if healing could take place. I believe that with all my heart. I don't have bitterness in my heart, the Lord healed me of it long ago. "Vengeance is mine" said the Lord to me.
It is not my place to try to bring the situation justice. The Lord will do it, and I believe when HE does, it will be in a way that will bring healing to all involved. I pray every day for the people, and for the man in question that healing would come. I hope this discussion will bring about meaningful change in the hearts and lives of those involved, and others who may be here reading, dealing with similar situations themselves.
