Can someone tell me who sings this song?
I first heard this song years ago off a cassette tape at an ALJC camp meeting, and it was some black lady singing it, but I do not know who sang this originally....weather it is a group or solo?
Here is the lyrics to the song:
Gonna Make It All The Way Home
Verse: 1
Well I’ve seen many souls start out,
and I’ve seen them slip and fall,
I’ve seen them come and I’ve watched them go
as I press toward the mark,
but this race is not for the swift
but it's for those, who will endure,
Oh there's no time for doubt
Oh get your mind made up
We've got to make it all the way!
Chorus:
I’m gonna make it all the way home,
I’m gonna make it all the way home,
though satan tries to turn me around,
I’m gonna make it all the way home.
Verse: 2
Sometimes the road get's rough,
and sometimes the day gets so long,
sometimes my burdens get so heavy,
that I’m tempted then to stop,
but I’ve made up my mind, a long time ago,
there ain’t nothing gonna hinder me,
Oh there's no time for doubt
Oh get your mind made up
We've got to make it all the way!
I searched on both youtube and google, but did not find anything.(Google kept giving me a stupid Frank Sinatra song)
Does anyone know who originally sang this? I am guessing it is a soloist...as a black woman was singing it at that ALJC camp, but I do not know any more than that. Anyone know?

I've never heard it, but I sent a message to my sisters, and I'll let you know if they remember it.

Re: Can someone tell me who sings this song?
I would also like to know who sang this song...I also heard this on that same ALJC cassette...
If God be for us (Who can be against us)
INTRO:
CHORUS: If God be for us, who can be against us?
Who can seperate us from his mighty hand?
If God be for us, Who can be against us?
We can win the battle, if for God we stand.
VERSE 1: Goliath stood boldly defying God's army.
There stood little david, but he didn't stand alone.
He said in the name of my God I come against thee.
He slew that ol' Giant with a , sling and a stone.(CHORUS)
VERSE 2: The lions were roaring, fierce and hungry
But Daniel knew the God he served, would, bring him out.
The king said hey Daniel has thy, God delivered thee?
He replied my God hath shut the Lions mouth! (REPEAT CHORUS THEN END)

Re: Can someone tell me who sings this song?
I sang both of those songs for years and never thought to look for who wrote them. Brings back memories. No clue who wrote "All the way" or whatever it's official title.

Re: Can someone tell me who sings this song?
Well the reason I was wondering the artist that did it was so I could have an mp3 to go with the words when I teach a piano player to play it, so I can sing it.
I have not found out who has sang this so far though, it may be one of those obscure songs only known about in churches and was not professionally performed?
At least that is my best guess as to why I can not find a artist singing it anywhere on the net.
