Re: Question?
Those are the type of Pentecostals i always gravitate toward. i don't think the perfect organization exists--and if you were to create one, i think satan would find a way into it, too. I'm not a 'joiner' for just that reason. I would ask the lady pastor to address the pledge she signed to agree to preach doctrine over unction--this always seemed like signing away the Holy Spirit to me. How can anything one does after that not be suspect?

If the doctrine is true, then the Holy Spirit would never grant an unction upon a person to teach something different, i.e. something that would be, by default, not true.
So, if a person agrees to a statement of faith in which true doctrine is enumerated, they can't go wrong preaching the statements of the faith.

If it wasn't Standards, it was "Sheep Stealing", or compromised preaching. I was so sick of hearing this nonsense, I finally stopped answering the phone so I didn't have to listen to this Religious rhetoric that is so prevalent in Christianity.
Regardless of what people believe, this strife runs deep in the realm of Religion for one, simple reason; Facts based upon Myth.

Really? My experience water seeks its own level, meaning they were calling you because you were singing their song.

i can't disagree with that, and even see how the need for a written 'code' to go by seems intuitive, and even mando--as to the first part, how do you know? our doctrines tend to be with the best of intentions--or not, in cases like Original Sin; um, or any of the others, imo (i can't think of a single one i would sign MY name to)--but fatally flawed in some tiny little respect, imo. Just ask...any obvious believer who disagrees with the doctrine! My position there is that they arose from satan, to divide us into 'denominations' (yikes, what a horrible way to think of oneself, spiritually), when they are perfectly fine for an individual believer to hold for a time, a stage, until they are able to put it through the fire, and refine it. All refining must cease when one is 'indoctrinated,' am i correct there?
I'm sure there is some advantage to the...indoctrination; I'll leave that to you, to present its 'good' points, which i am curious to hear, ty.

Re: Question?
personally, i would be much more impressed with a pastor that presented all the sides, defending their own view while admitting that they really didn't know. Frankly, i believe the answer to all of those imponderables is, "Everyone is wrong; no one can even imagine what 'right' is in this matter; it is basically irrelevant to your salvation. You are wasting your time chasing wind." (It certainly all smells like wind to me! )

ok, to be fair, this is a forum, wherein things like this are held up, so that light may shine on them? While i am personally horrible at not phrasing some of my replies in the best way, i always mean for them to be rebutted; i know there is another side to the coin.
Iow, if i tell you "what i'm hearing in your post is _________________." (perceived as a negative) i usually omit--my bad--the "...and I'm sure you don't mean that, so could you rephrase?" part. (to me it's like saying "imo" after every post; everything i post is my opinion. "Believe nothing, no matter where you read it or who has said it, not even if i have said it, unless it agrees with your own reason and your own common sense" adapted.

Yeah, that's true. I was in the "Party" at one time, telling everyone that unless you believe like me and my Religion, your lost and going to Hell.
Don't do that anymore.
