Slippery slope argument, really?! You mentioned you have 3 does that mean it'll be easy for you to take the mark of the beast too?

NO.

The MARK in Greek means an ETCHING or ENGRAVING, as an antithesis to the carved ten commandments that were to be put on the forehead and hand.

Saying that wearing a tattoo is a closer step towards getting the mark of the beast is like wearing glasses is the next thing to being like Jesus as a lamb with seven eyes.

No, that's all been repented of and is under the Blood, not something that is ongoing. Thankfully, it does make a difference.

Re: Tattoos, sin against God or church cuture?

I do believe that if futurist eschatology proves correct, the mark of the beast will not be a microchip. After all the devastation described in the Revelation, I do not believe we'll see a global network of computer scanners still functioning.

However, I do believe that the "mark of the beast" could very well be a tattoo, engraving, or etching in the skin. I've come to believe that the Antichrist will be of Islamic origin and will be regarded as the Al-Mahdi (Guided One/12th Imam) of Islam. I believe that the "Beast" will be the final Caliphate and that the Antichrist will conquer the world through "Islam" (regarded by many to mean "peace" or "peace with God through submission"). The global catastrophes described in the Revelation will bring the world economy to it's knees. Should a global Islamic front gain control over most of the world they could easily require a branding for all who desire to do business indicating the commitment to operate according to Halal ("permissible") standards implemented by the Al-Mahdi.

But this has little to do with "tattoos" in and of themselves.

Re: Tattoos, sin against God or church cuture?

My dad died last month and I'll confess that I've wanted to get a tattoo to honor him. ("Daddy's Girl") However, in between a concern that it could be seen as worshiping my dad (as opposed to God), my dislike of needles and not wanting to do something this drastic while I'm still mourning my father, I'm not going forward any time soon. But it's sure been tempting to get some ink.

How does God receive glory from a person marking up their body, permanently, with tattoos?

Re: Tattoos, sin against God or church cuture?

I have 3 tattoos, I wish I would've never gotten them. Thank God for His grace!!!! Also I am 300 pounds that is because of psych drugs and the inability to do excersize because of disabilities that have happened to me. I do not overeat, I eat once or twice a day small portions of food, I cannot help that I am fat. I hope you all do not judge me because I am 300 pounds.
