Thank you! I love this kind of music. As for your comment about the chanting, I guess what I meant was that repetitive staccato sound.

I like traditional choirs and black gospel, hymns, older choruses, singing out of the hymnbook...sigh.
When I was a teenager, I attended a trinitarian holiness school, and I particularly loved the music portion of chapel and the occasional church services. They were all accustomed to singing out of the hymnal and they would also sing in parts. The accompaniment was simple--usually just a piano. I LOVED it. I loved that the voices were the biggest part of the experience, and not just the worship leader--his voice blended in with everyone else's. The congregation sang together and it was beautiful.
I like solos, too, though....I LOVE to hear my sisters sing, and other great singers in Pentecost or the Christian music world. I just kind of dislike the role of the "modern" worship leader. Sometimes it works, and other times it's very diva-like and the congregation is left behind.
