Howbout this parable....13 Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh.

14 For the kingdom of heaven is as a man travelling into a far country, who called his own servants, and delivered unto them his goods.

15 And unto one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one; to every man according to his several ability; and straightway took his journey.

A FAR country take a while in those days....think about it bro.
As I take "soon" to mean "soon," and you don't recognize that, it seems, how can you now say "far" means "far?"
If I understand you correctly, "Soon" means "far"?
I thought somewhere you said you were a literalist?

Again bro. All I need is an actual date of when Jesus is known to have arrived at His 2nd coming. It will resolve our issue here.

Here is an average post regarding his first appearing...

Our dating modern system is used because of His 1st appearing....

Is there a date in history that anyone knows the 2nd coming happened?

It should have had some significance you would think.

Is there a possibility that some have just imagined that the Lord returned already?

The world we live in knows nothing about a 2nd coming happening 2000 years ago. I have never in my life heard of such an idea until last year, and I am 53 years old.

Its not even on Fox news or CNN. It must be Christianitys' little secret?

It just not fair bro....All of Christianity has been waiting for the return of our Lord and He showed up secretly to "rule the world with a rod of iron" 2000 years ago....

And I wasn't even informed.

It was not even mentioned in history...

Its just not fair...

You would have at least told the UPC or something...LOL

Near as I can tell, no one here is proposing the 2nd coming is past. That is future, but not all prophecies are about His second coming.

I realize that bro. , but the preterists actually believe that the return of Jesus was 2000 years ago.

Some do believe His 2nd coming was in AD70, others believe AD70 was A coming, not THE 2nd coming. Big difference. There are different "comings" of the Lord to be sure, so one must listen to the language as to what "coming" is being referred to.
