Re: Apostolic But Not Believing Jesus is The Fathe

God became FLESH???

Wasnt he "revealed" in the flesh of Jesus?

16 And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God(YHWH) was manifest in the flesh,(Jesus) justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory. Looks like God IN Christ.

There's a UPC pastor in Scottsdale, Arizona, who wrote a hymn with the chorus:
"He's my Lord and my God, he's not just a stranger to me;
When I looked past the veil it was easy o see, He's my Lord and my God.

Apostle Thomas refused to believe that Jesus was resurrected; but when he saw the Lord, he knelt,
saying: "My Lord and my God." Why? He saw past the veil that was
the body.

Too many folks are still looking at the body, and getting past the veil!

Bro, you twisted Revelation 1 so much where Jesus was called Almighty, that there is no reasoning with you.

Just saying.

Oops...not getting past the veil.

Strawman argument alert!

God had to experience birth not to learn something He never knew, but to provide a sinless sacrifice in the form of the SON OF GOD in order to vicariously die for humanity and pay the death penalty we all had to pay.

Hebrews 2:14 Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil;

He could not DIE if He did not come in flesh and blood. AND DEATH was the need.

St John 1:1 & 2 clearly establishes Jesus' Identity and His eternal existence as GOD from "the begining".

Re: Apostolic But Not Believing Jesus is The Fathe

Well wadr you are making a connection that i am not, and thus a statement that you cannot quote Christ or Scripture making. The rest of the chapter would seem to bear me out in at least a couple of places,
"And the Word was made flesh" (Christ was "made" by God)
"the only begotten of the Father" (this verse was surely added later; does not tail with Scripture @ "Melchizidek" and other places--but nevermind, let's take it at face value, like the Scriptures for God being angry, or sorry, or some other anthropomorphism)
"No man hath seen God at any time, the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him." (yikes, how do you get around this one?)
"And he saith unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Hereafter ye shall see heaven open, and the angels of God ascending and descending upon the Son of man.

...but this is an eternal argument. Will you make Melchizidek into God, also? Why not?
I am finally seeing that the rabid frenzy to attribute compleat Godship to the Christ is really a desire to legitimize a religion. Now, don't get me wrong; Christ is our High Priest, of the order of Melchizidek. Even the Qur'an advises one to respect and follow Christ, or be doomed. But instead Christ is made into a stumbling block--for anyone who wants to go down this path, who incidentally also seems to be the ones quick to condemn everyone else to hell; which, btw, is the giveaway. This demonstrates that one does not grasp Christ, nor salvation, in doing this. Seek your own salvation.

Remember, only those who persevere until the end are saved, according to Scripture. Imo, one in this position has not even started persevering. If you want to be a patriot, then by all means go, and be a patriot; you will be judged as a patriot. But this "we have God, all 4 of us, and the rest of you don't" is so old it's...a cliche'

Is Jesus the Word of St. John 1:1?

Yes or No
