Re: Keeping the Sabbath was only for Israelites/Je

The Law is still in effect to condemn ALL sinners...the Jews are also considered sinners in N.T. biblical standards in our Church Age dispensation.

1 John 3:4 Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.

This is true. The law was fulfilled by the work of Christ, not eliminated. Nevertheless, once a person submits themselves to God - and follows Him in this age of grace - we are no longer under the law, but under the Spirit. The law only applies to those outside of the grace of God.

I answered you and I stuck with Word, which you would not stick with when it came up. You believe Romans 14 was dealing with fasting and not the sabbath. Even Shazeep knew better than that. (Not saying Shazeep knows little as though even someone who knows little can see the point. But I meant he agrees with sabbath-keeping, and he saw sabbath in Romans 14.) Come on, bro.

Just to clarify, the born again saints are not under the Law(as long as we dont fall back into sin).

The law is for sinners, which we have been set free from....

1 Tim 1:8 But we know that the law is good, if a man use it lawfully;

9 Knowing this, that the law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and for sinners, for unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers,

10 For whoremongers, for them that defile themselves with mankind, for menstealers, for liars, for perjured persons, and if there be any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine;(false teachers also!)

Ah, but we are a stiff-necked people, who eat, and wipe our mouths, and say we have done nothing wrong. Who is not a sinner?

And it might be worth noting that our lives are filled with leisure, vastly unlike those we read of. Beggars in the mideast work harder than most of us, as a rule. So i wonder how valid our best guesses are about Sabbaths anyway.

Our water baptism has officially declared us "dead to sin".(individually)

Thats why we are not under the Law as saints,

Indeed, we will have our time before the Lord. I am thankful for the grace of God. .... For by GRACE are ye SAVED through faith, and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God. Eph. 2:8

It doesn't say by our perfect doctrine we are saved. But it says that by grace are we saved through faith.

That is a beautiful measuring stick, and regardless of whether we have made mistakes in our doctrine (which I think is possible for all of us) it is our faith in Jesus and the grace of God that in the end will cover us in judgment.

I have no problem with someone believing that they need to set aside Sabbath as unto the Lord, as long as they don't look at me and judge me because I don't. That is where Romans 14 comes into the picture.

Problem is, most who start out keeping Sabbath eventually begin to consider it a salvational thing, and a measuring stick to judge others by, and this is the problem that it creates.

If you keep Sabbath, and don't judge others, then I respect that.

Romans 14:5 "One man esteemeth one day above another: another esteemeth every day alike. Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind."
