well, you might prefer the Catholic "repentance." i don't do "penance," and prefer the more accurate--to me--concept of rebound, a 180 degree change of direction after confession.

Re: Why I Am A Futurist

They could not repent, lest God be found a liar...

17 But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die

Man was now "oficially" evil, and lost his innocence from sin.

What is "On the day you eat of it, you will surely die" to someone who does not know death? What is "die" to him? It is a meaningless concept, until it is experienced.
Again, I think, it refers to the same thing Paul fought all his ministry. Self advancing self, making himself god by not needing God. It was knowledge of everything that's good to know what to do, and everything that's evil to know what not to do. That way, it replaces God. Walking after the flesh is making oneself improve through independence. Walking after the Spirit is God's life living through us.

Knoweldge of good and evil is very religious sounding. And it's in all our blood now. How many people instinctively feel they're not good enough, and need to work on that before they can come to God?

I think it's rather simple. The body is the issue. And the only thing not made new in our beings is our bodies. Our spirits were made new at new birth. The only thing made new, by the way. And our souls are being renewed now. And our bodies shall be made new.

It goes along with 2 Cor 5.

Are you intimating that Adam and Eve ate of the Tree of Life BEFORE they ate
of the forbidden tree?

Where'd you get them apples?

Amen. There is no indication they ate the fruit of life at all.
