"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.

"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.

"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."

I actually like him better than I thought I would. It takes me a few years to like the new Doctor. I started with Tom Baker in the mid 80's. When he regenerated it felt like the show was over for me. I eventually was able to tolerate Davison and then Colin Baker came along. I never liked him. I liked both Troughton and Pertwee. I didn't not like McGann, but I wasn't thrilled by his movie. I never heard any of his audio dramas.

Fast forward to 2005... I liked Eccleston from day one, but it was a new show so it didn't feel like I was losing my favorite Doctor. It took me a few seasons to like Tennant (me not liking change). Matt Smith was unique for me. I liked him within the first few minutes of The 11th Hour. Smith should have stayed another year. I like Capaldi enough, but I won't be sad when he's gone. That might change if he's around long enough.

It was all downhill after Tom Baker.

Not that ANY of that is relevant to anything, though...

I like how they brought back McGann when they explained the origin of the War Doctor.

I LOVED that! I never thought I'd see him as the Doctor on screen again. That was a happy surprise. I liked him even better this time around.

My biggest "feels" moment was hearing the voice of Tom Baker offscreen before they showed him...total nerd moment.

I only knew of William Hartnell, and Tom Baker. Anyone after them I have no knowledge.

Yeah, me too! That was a historical moment for Whovians. I thought is was hilarious that they hid his face for a few seconds after we heard his voice. Anyone who would have known his face also knows his voice.
