Dunno... Not an important figure to my mind anyway...

Sure, that is what he thinks, but hopefully he can see that there is another perspective

Ok, then may I say this, all the people in your congregation (whether large or small) are your brothers and sisters. You posting the FB page, and then posting that they are stingy would hurt them. These are the people that you love, and they love you. You worship with them and pray for them. Your pastor and the elders of your church work hard to grow the church with love and respect for all who attend. They would be grieved to read such things about the people they shepard. I believe you when you say you mean no disrespect, let's be mindful of others who are working hard for the kingdom just like you, and understand that they don't make excuses for doing what they do. They love Jesus and the Apostolic message just like you, and want to see revival in their area just like you.

This is ridiculous, quit making excuses
So what was the excuse of the early church?

I believe history tells us that until persecution came heavy upon the early church they stay close to home. But when persecution Came they had no more excuses they spread far and wide. Then the halepule became large. The persecution also did another thing you drove the church indoors, but we don't live in those times anymore we should be able to grow.

They spread and grew into HOMES in other regions, not church buildings. What you are believing to be "NORMAL" church was never even remotely dreamed of by the Apostles.

A great problem to have! If a church body is healthy it will multiply so unless there are extraordinary circumstances a house church should always outgrow the house.

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.

"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.

"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."

This is normal to God in my opinion ,,, And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation; And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth.
And I beheld, and I heard the voice of many angels round about the throne and the beasts and the elders: and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands; Saying with a loud voice, Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessing.
This is Gods version of church. Even in heaven we all come together, they're not separated into small groups. Hoaloha

Thumbs up Re: House church or excuse?

Why not have multiple satellite house churches all over the island? Each home of a believer becomes a place where more believers can be reached with a bible study, and love and fellowship...

For the record, I have no problem with a large church building, but it should not be the "only" building in the group where people are meeting to fellowship, and share the gospel. Every believer's home really should be open to sharing the gospel as much as possible. Now that is a way to truly explode and bust out the seams and reach people with the gospel!
Ok good I like it.

Re: House church or excuse?

if one is familiar with that many house churches in a small area, a local house church assembly might be pretty cool like once in a while
