Is it perhaps accurate to say that they aren't sinful at all and it is merely our own cultural uptightness that grants such stigma to "curse" words?
Again, I don't like the language, I don't use it and I wouldn't let my kids, but to say they are sinful and try to connect them to Paul's words about corrupt communication and profane speech is a stretch in my opinion.
I tend to think Paul was speaking about truly vile things such as conversing about things that are sinful, vile and corrupt. Discussing things that ought not be spoken of such as sin, intimate issues, perverse thoughts, etc. I may be wrong, but I think it is more about content and not words.

I agree!

Simple. By the spirit in which they're said. You could says SHOE with a nasty and hateful attitude, and it would be wrong.
Cursing is commanding someone or something to be changed from one state to another, whether it be lost as in the term "........". And the words used to indicate that spirit are wrong.
Spirituality is losing it's presence, I think.

I think it is safe to say that the F word is sexual in nature and has no place in a Christian's life.

Re: F word used by my daughter's teacher!
UPDATE: Another parent has gotten involved. Apparently there were other posts on her page that are even more sexual in nature. She never answered my admonishment which means she is ignoring me or that her account was hacked and that she has no idea what is going on. I have not been able to catch her at the school.
The irony is, her page is public and does require friendship in order to be viewed.

I respectfully urged her to remove it as it would not go over well with parents, nor with the school administration.
This is a mature Christian lady in her mid 50's.
I let her know that I did not plan on saying anything to the school administration, so if something is said I was not the one who told on her.
I am stunned by this. Please pray for this lady. She was my daughter's 4th grade teacher last year. She moved here from Chicago and had a bit of a time adjusting her style to small town southern culture. I felt a real burden for her and was one of her biggest encouragers and defenders. I'd hate to see her get fired. Obviously something is amiss here.

No, she's not. Nothing mature about that.
